turboS2, any chance you plan to be at 968 gathering at Hershey. Would love to see your car in person. The setup looks similar to what we did a few years back using an S2 head. George should be bringing his turbo there as well.

I'm glad to see, that you also like my car.

Yes it has a manual transmission.
I have no problem with the oil-temperature.
But I'm in need of a solution to get the warm air out of the engine-compartment, without cutting a hole in the hood or something. Anyone of you got an idea?

Damn, my English became so bad...

Hey Andreas, that warm air buddy, where do you think it is coming from? If your engine is warm and you think a bit about fluid dynamics and Thermodyanmics, cooling that oil is reducing under hood temps you perceive to be coming from the engine. Make sure all your undertrays are there as well. They are usually the first things to disappear off of any car. You could also wrap your exhaust to the catalytic converter. not sure how much heat that will save you but the theory of wrapping seems sound.

I'm sure that a second oil cooler would also reduce the temperature but first I'd like to try some modification that's a bit easier to realize.
So I thought about taking out the seal under the engine-hood or putting the battery into the back of the car to gain some space for a hose or something to lead the hot air out of the engine compartment. While driving, there should be negative pressure between the hood and the windshield, so the air-draft soaks the hot air out.
I'm not sure about this method working out, but I will try it as soon as I'm done with my exams. If it doesn't work, I promise to think about a second oil-cooler.

I come from Germany (Bavaria).

Also Check for any vacuumn leaks or any hoses that may be routed wrong. You may be running a little lean and that would also raise operating temperature. Also the 80 degree celcius fan switch will help cool things down as well a bit. Make sure your fan shroud does not have any leaks. Also make sure the rubber grommet that contains the wiring harness is securely seated. That will cause cabin temps to really seem warm in the summer.

I meant cracks on the fan shroud (While I check for leaks in my brain)

I'm certainly interested in the second second cooler set-up - I'm hitting 128 celcius (260F) on the track

Thanks for all the kudo's on my car! I didn't have it repainted but the previous owner did about 6 years ago...it's still the original color.

Andreas - I lived in Germany from Jan 86 to Oct 94 - had a blast there! Where exactly are you?

Hope this works, well how many forums are out there?!
I just found this forum and thought I would introduce my 1993 Black coupe!
Bought last May with 37,000 miles on it. I LOVE IT!

I can't post pics because my file is too large is there a way to shrink it so I can post?

Thanks, Steve

Hey, welcome to rennlist!

Go search for a program called IrfanView... it's a great little program (free) that lets you view, and do basic manipulations to images.

Here's a pic of mine.
