Default How many miles on yours?

so as a previous 968 owner, I miss mine dearly. I am thinking about getting another as a commuter car. I am aware of all the "issues" they have and had to deal with each and every one of them on mine. My question is, how many miles are people seeing on the clock and at what point does the car get "tired?"

97k on mine - still runs strong and is solid - there was a recent post with one north of 200k. If the 944 series is any indication these cars should easily go 200k with a little tlc

90,000+ miles on mine and it is a daily driver! I also drive it in Autocross and DE Events.

147k miles, daily driver and F-stock PCA racecar.

Gotta love 'em!

Did the head this winter (gasket), original clutch made it past 130k miles, but tranny noise is on the rise

165k miles and counting. Chiped, exhaust'ed, intaked, coilovered, and in the process of adding a snail and I have no complaints. Head makes some ticking noise, tranny is boggy in the mornings when cold, and there are about a million creaks and rattles. My headliner is getting redone in suede, dash in leather, top of door panels in black leather, and center console in black leather. I just ordered all new gaskets for the exterior as mine are cracking and old, timing belt and all associated parts, headgasket, rod bearings, front end gaskets, and a lot more. My order was a hair over $500 from Pelican, and I will do all the work myself. Waterpump is staying as its about 17k miles old, or a little over a year. Transmission whine is starting to increase as well, and in really cold morning, with the clutch all the way in, it can grind going into second, but only until the synchro's match perfectly and it goes in. I have only had that happen maybe twice since ownership. The good news is that the transmission can be completely rebuilt, as with the diff, so I am not too terribly worried. Probably get all the gears hardened whenever I do that work.

Wes

P.S. I change my oil about ever 2000-2500 miles, tranny fluid about twice a year, coolant ~ once a year, plugs atleast once a year, or check gapping every so often, etc... There is no sense if avoiding the cheapest maitenence on the car.

59k on mine, and just developed a steering rack leak. A bit aggravating but not that big a deal to replace, and besides failing hydraulic tensioners and the original radio dying (anyone have a CR-1 with the security code they want to part with?), its the only thing I have to complain about so far. Its been a very reliable car (so far!) in the six years I have owned it.

Regards,

just passed by 100K a couple of weeks ago - 94 coupe.

Ren my previous 944 to almost 200K so I expect 968 should do as well (or better per this thread)

Recently acquired a 170k mile car -- I have zero worries, and expect to take it well past 200k.

Bought mine in March with 74K on it. Will turn 80K this week. It's my summer daily driver, just got back from a week at Cape Cod with it - put about 700 mi on.

Have autox'd and will DE in August.

Only proble is an occasional thunk between exhaust and torque tube - there is some kinda mount that goes there that my mechanic cannot find from any OEM or other source, I think he will have to fabricate something.

Other than that car is solid!
