Based on your previous posts, yes you do need someone who won't be taking you for a ride and knows these cars. As far as motormount replacement, anyone familiar with front engined Porsches should be able to do it. I suggest you post on other boards as well. I am sure someone will have a recommendation.

Deano - I send a fair number of $$$ to Fischer Motors in Barrington (dropping the car there this weekend as a matter of fact). They know 968's pretty well, do a lot of track cars.

I haven't used the shop, but Midwest Eurosport is in Bensenville and may have their Joliet (Autobahn) shop open by now too. They do know 968's as they support a number of 968 Club Race cars in the region as well.

Stupid me... I think Euroquipe in St. Charles is where a buddy of mine works! Ask for the aircraft pilot if you go there...

Thanks everyone. My mechanic did a good job. Did he over sell me? maybe but it was all work that needed to be done at some point. I am comfortable (for now) with Loeber Porsche (dealer)... they seem to be pretty honest. Also, I will go back to Golz motors in Deerfield. Geographically, I am right in the middle of both of them = good for me. Approx 5-10 miles either way... pretty lucky actually, to have good service all around... I have been enjoying the 968 immensely. Thanks again !

Took my 968 to Euroquippe in St. Charles with outstanding results. Treated me very fair and made many good suggestions.
