Axle Shaft Question
Are 1989 944 turbo S rear axle shafts the same as the 968's
The part # is 951.332.038.02
Also are they interchangeable left to right and vice versa
I might be getting a used set and I don't know if they are marked
Also is it obvious which one is the inner and which is the outer, I saw a picture of it and they look similar.
Thanks,
Glen

I found a good thread to tell me what to do once the axle is out of the car but not how to get it out
Is pulling the drivers side axle as easy as marking the shaft so I know how to put it back in and removing the triple square/cheese head bolts from both sides and it drops out.
I need to do the inner and while I'm there the outer CV boots or joints after inspection.
The replacement boots I got have the metal flange on them and are clamped. But they did not come with the clamp for the small side, can I use a Zip tie or do I need to get some cv clamps?
Someone in another thread said to wrap the exhaust to prevent as much heat from cooking the boots, thoughts?
Thanks,
Glen
