Who did you speak to? The car is sitting in PAR's basement. Speak to to Paul, he owns the place. I saw the car myself 1 month back and my friend saw it last weekend, both times at PAR. Someone is BS'ing you.
Damian was with me as well.

What wing is on that car? It gives the car a different look from most coupes I've seen.

It's a replica (I think) of the Porsche Motorsports 3 position adjustable Turbo S wing.

Both Raj and I have driven that car...

I would be very surprised to find out that it was 500 hp. Maybe it has the potential to be 500 hp with some tuning, or some serious increase in its boost levels.

My car has less than 400 hp and feels more powerful...Of course, I may be mixing up the feelings of Torque and Horsepower.

Raj hits on another point, as well, which is that the car did have a few things which needed to be addressed.

But it is a very pretty car, with a stock feeling interior. Nice seats, too.

This car was posted on 968.net ( http://65.61.16.109/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11168 ) the owner moved back to Australia in June of 2005 and left the car with PAR then.

Again, I believe that this is one of the earlier, lower BHP Powerhaus conversions. I suggest you call Powerhaus and a few owners of their cars before buying this car.

Raj:
Can you clarified the compression issues? If you have uneven compression across the cylinders, this can be an expensive problem to resolve.

Any idea if it's available? I might consider a coupe with that on it. Of course if I buy the cab I'm looking at tomorrow that idea goes out the window, the wife isn't going to be happy if I end up with 4 sports cars again.

I'm not sure if Porsche Motorsport has any more, but I think vendors like GT Racing and AIR make replica's. The blue car was pretty well done, cosmetically ok (hatch window seal is poor) the wheels are replica's (I think) but the car presents itself well-needs some tlc.

White, yes they are available through Porsche Motorsports. I did a group buy last eyar and bought 3 of them. That their price, I did want to order a spare.
Angel, the compression from what I was told was all over the place and in the 140 range. I did not pay for the PPI so I was not privy to the complete details but that was one of the big flags. I know 1st hand how much it costs to do this so I still consider this car to be a good buy or a good baseline to start with.
Compare it to another 16 valve 951 in the market that has a similar setup which is in the 40-50K range and you have plenty left to fix it and do it right. At the end of the day it will cost between $35-40K depending on the sale price to make it perfect. That is one hell of a price if you ask me. Find me a similarly priced car that could touch it in performance.

forget face-tearing acceleration, the thing I like best about the turbo 968's is the snaketooth hood.

That is just sooo kewl.
