Default 1993 968 coupe with 105,000

There is a 93 on cars.com for 10,500. Green with tan interior, located in Annandale, VA. It caught my eye.

Can you post a link to it?

$10,500 is very cheap for a 968. Buying a poorly maintained Porsche for a discount often costs more than buying a well maintained example.

Here is a link to the ad http://cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp...3&aff=national

Maintenance records are posted online at http://www.members.***.net/lisanderic/Porsche968Mat.xls

This seems like too good of a deal to be true to me. So why not call the seller and offer to buy based on a prepurchase inspection. Then have the local dealer inspect it for anything they can fix. If you are happy with the outcome of the inspection then buy it. If it is a good car at this price then you need to act fast.

It has been for sale for over a month or at least listed in the Washington Post.

At that price and listed for over a month I would guess that it has a story to come along with it.

I forgot to mention but you should run a Carfax before doing anything.

Not really a big car buying time of year. Hard to tell sometimes. Maintenance record list, if backed up by the actual records, is pretty nice. Timing belt just 5k ago. Car has only done 3,500 miles in the past 3.5 years. If you are looking it is well worth the initial time - and the price is certainly right.

Can't tell the color from the photos - Adventurine?

Spoke to owner today. She has sent a load of pics but difficult to tell good or bad aspects of car. Just one pic of a scuffed wheel. No interior pictures. Anyone recommend a porsche shop in Washington DC area. Cost of PPI? The car is in Annendale, VA.

If you call the local dealer they should be able to perform the PPI or reccomend someone who can.

I am not sure if any DC area 968 owners post here but several do on 968.net http://65.61.16.109/forum/active.asp .

Sorry my mechanic is over in Maryland. One close to the car is Autothority
their website
There are a couple fo other good shops in that area but none of the names come to mind at the moment. I would post up in the main 944 forum or pop over to 968.net as there are several Northern Virginia people that frequent it..

The interior images in the cars.com ad seem good. I would also recommend contacting the PCA Potomac Region fro PPI suggestions and/or a 968 guy in your area.
