Default Engine Bay restoration project.

Some recent picture of my winter project. Its loads of fun. I plan to swap every nut/bolt/seal/shield in the entire engine bay and have it looking as good under the hood as it looked on the outside.
I will keep updating as I make progress. So far I have dismantled everything as you can see and have swapped out all the nuts/bolts on the balance shaft section.

This pictures is all about the *****, lol.

Regards.
Raj

Raj, my friend:
Is this your turbo replica? Man, I'm amazed at how much you care for your care. Your turbocharger appears to have a 4 in inlet. I installed a turbo with a 4 in. inlet, but have to sort some hurdles. Good look on your engine bay project.

Angel, you have a good eye, lol. Yes it is a GT30 with a 4 inch inlet. Lets chat sometime and maybe I can help you sort your problems.

Hi Raj: I am attemting something on a much smaller scale. I would like to clean and polish the exposed aluminum on the engine. Any suggestions? I tried a good metal polish to start with, but I wasn't real pleased with the results. Maybe I'm missing a step or two in the process for better results?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Bill, I have had great success using Simple Green. I use a toothbrush to scrub any additional dirt. I don't let it sit for too long and rinse it with water.
