Tono cover

I assume that Richard is requesting info on cleaning the trunk cover in his coupe.
Flash are you referring to the cover for the Cab top of the trunk cover in a coupe?
I do not remember what a coupe trunk area cover is made of but assume it may be some type of vinyl. In that case I would suggest the vinyl cleaner and conditioner made by either Mcguires or Griots.

Richard, what color is it?
If it is canvas like a Cab top then there is a great product called Renovo that has a cleaner, a dye and a waterproofer. I used this on my top and the tono cover to cover the top last year and found that it worked great.

If it's a vinyl product you can redye it with a product like Surflex, available at www.carcareonline.com then keep it renewed with Vinylex. This stuff works great on the bumperettes too, but those would need an exterior protectant put on afterwards.

i assumed the term "tono" (which is really tonneau) which generally refers to something that covers the open area of a cab or the bed of a truck, was being used to describe the boot cover - i didn't ask for clarification as to why a hardtop owner wanted to clean a boot cover - i suppose the cargo area cover that comes in the hardtops could be called a tonneau cover, for lack of a more appealing term
in either case, the method of cleaning is the same - if you have to use a chemical cleaner, spray it on a rag,and NOT directly on the cover, and then wipe it on, taking care to remove the chemical thoroughly - the sun beating on it will cause discoloration if any chemical is left there
any sun protectant should be applied the same way - spray it on the rag and not the cover
