Mystery cover plate on Trans ???
I purchase a 1994 968 Cab last year that had no engine. I am in the process of putting a engine out of a 93 Coupe in it. There is a cover plate on the bottom that is missing and I don't know what it's part number or description is? It looks like it should be made out of cast aluminum and helps to support the starter.
Does anyone know what this is called?
Where can I get one?
Where can I find a shop manual for a 1994 Cab?
I am so close! Please help!
Attached is a photo of the space where it would go.

It's the access plate to the bellhousing, 944 116 083 00.
Certainly available at the dealer, but may be difficult to obtain otherwise, because most will still be attached to the bellhousing and probably sold as a single unit. No idea of price, sorry.
Search for posts on manuals: to complete the factory series of workshop manuals you need the 924 series (not much useful to the car in them), the 944 series (some pertinent stuff), and the 968 series. They run about $400-500 from dealers, sometimes appear on e-Bay or in the classifieds.
