Got hit tonight
You know the story: SUV, parking lot, backing up, rear quarter panel.
"Your car is so small I did not see it."
The lady was very upset and gracious. Her husband just called to tell me that he would call his insurance co in the morning. They are Swiss - no question of dishonesty or skullduggery. We spoke a little German - I told him that I wish I had made their acquaintence under different circumstances.
Then I went into the garage and sat staring at the car.
Damn.

Really sorry to hear that. Its my big fear while driving in snow as well. I am paying as much attention in the rear view as the front cause idiots like to tailgate even when its snowing.
Wish you the best.

I'm sorry to hear it. Parking lots will get you every time. It sounds like you had the "good" fortune of it being a good citizen though.
Best of luck and I hope you find a competent shop to match that Amazon Green.

Sorry to hear it -- I know all too well how you must feel. The good part is that you have the counterparty -- there's been too many hit&runs on this board recently.
Start looking for a good shop now -- before the insurance adjusters start calling. Some states differ, but you get to choose which shop to use no matter what the insurance company says.
Good luck with repairs!

I have a good shop. My question is how to get their insurance to pay for a complete re-spray. There is no way that the shop is going to be able to match the slightly faded, rock-chipped rest of the car. That panel is going to stand out like a sore thumb.
