Unhappy Re-setting oil level warning light

Quick question. I have a 92 coupe. The oil level warning light is stuck on even though the level looks fine. It was fine untill I disconnected the battery for maintenance. Is there a reset procedure for the diagnostic computer? Not earth shattering but very annoying.

I have a test set up for 944's with the switch, pin and crocodile clip, but I don't know the procedure for a 968.

Thanks Richard

The DME will not recheck the level for two minutes.

What is the level, if it is less than half way between low and high add quart.

The oil level is on the max mark. Its very strange.

I wonder if a connection to the sensor wire has dropped off? it would be an amazing coincidence, as I haven't been near it.

Sam, I would start by checking the oil level sender connections. Usually when these things fail, they fail is max mode which for a warning light would be "on". It could be a coincidence but worth a try. The oil level sender unit is on the passenger side of the oil pan on the bottom in case you don't know.
