951 Cabrio meets 968 Coupe
Last weekend I had the opportunity to meet up with fellow Rennlister Pitou and his U.S. spec 1992 amethyst metallic on black 6 speed 968, right here in Barcelona. You guys may know him from 968.net.
We met up at the car wash place, as I was drying my 951 and then went for a spirited drive up into the hills behind the city, and a nice lunch in the town of Sant Cugat, in the valley beyond. It was an awesome, cool sunny day, and I was pushing the new balljoints in my control arms for all they were worth in the turns.
Here's a pic of the two cars side by side at one of my favorite stops by the roadside. For such an early example, his 968 is in extraordinary condition. We spent some time poring over it's features.
I hadn't had the chance to get "up close and personal" with a 968 before, and was very impressed with the design improvements Porsche put into the last iteration of the 924/944/968 series. Looking back at my 951, it's pretty neat how such different cars were built within months of each other:

Pitou, it was great meeting you and I look forward to seeing you and your other 968 buddy at the classic car informal get-together at Montjuich on Sat. 27th, if we all can make it!
