strut tower brace
I need to purchase a strut tower brace for my new 968. I know that KLA manufactures one and Cargraphic sells one too. Are there any others?
I was not dissatisfied with my aluminum KLA brace. Quality seemed quite good and the price ($150) was reasonable too. Unfortunately, that part was trashed in September's accident.
Anyone have any experience with Michael Mount headers? Thanks.

I would 2nd the Dynatech one as well. I really like the sturdyness and the quality compared to the KLA. The KLA brace does allow you to run the "porsche" vanity while the KLA requires you removing it. It should be a moot point on a track car.

All,
We do have one avalible specificly for the 968 that you dont have to remove the fuel rail cover it just bolts straight on. Raj we should have our first prototype of the carbon bar sometime this week, our vendor wants us to take a look at it before he gives us our cost, i will keep you informed.

Scott,
Okay, so now I'm interested in seeing Dynatech's 968 strut tower brace. Where do I see a Dynatech strut tower brace and how do I get one? BTW, what is the "carbon bar" that you've mentioned in your post?
Damian,
CDOC sells Michael Mount headers for 944 4-valve (I presume this means 4 valves per cylinder, as in 3.0L?) engines. According to CDOC this is a popular set-up with some highly successful 944 racers. Assuming that the bolt pattern for the S2 3.0L engine is the same 3-bolt pattern as the 968's, the MM header should fit. How does it work? Don't know.
If I could find Michael Mount, I would call or write and ask them if their headers are effective with 968's.

Damian,
That's an interesting piece of aluminum. I think OG Racing is a BK distributor, maybe they'd be interesed in a group deal.

Rich, notvsure if you have looked at one of those Dynatech strut tower braces yet. They are a piece of art and at alittle over a $100 more than a flimzy KLA, money well spent. Maybe Scott can give us a group buy rate if enough of us line up.
Add to that the fact that now people can keep their vanity cover, you have "THE" brace to have for 968s. I am glad I stayed away from the KLA brace as I was not too impressed by them. Scott had told me sometime back that they were planning on developing a carbon bar for the 911 variants. I guess a few conversations convinced him that there would be a market for a carbon fiber unit for our beloved 968s.
I plan to get one for the turbo and one for the NA. I am not sure if their website is complete but I am sure Scott can direct you to a link. Just plain gorgeous! One look and you will see the R&D that went into this unit.

Three Wheelin'
Sounds like we might have a group buy for the Dynatech CF strut brace!
Rich, will you be able to make it on Saturday to Rutt's Hut?
Raj, so do you think you'll make it, too?
If it doesn't rain I'll probably go...my tires are not very happy in wet weather.
