Default 986 Revive

Bought a damaged 986 unseen from auction. Decided to put what I have learned into practice.
it was non running with flat battery and unable to get into bonnet or boot. When it arrived it was in a dirty mess…. But underneath the grime I could see that someone had cared a great deal for this 986. I felt hopeful. Within 15 mins I had it running. No smoke, no dashboard lights, everything working perfectly.
thought to myself that there was no way the roof would operate - wrong! It’s fine. Checked oil and coolant expecting it to be old and nasty - nope! Fresh and clear. Clutch - fine, Gearbox fine! No leaks, no knocks!
List of jobs needed to be done:
1. Polish car all over
2. Remove scratches from front bumper
3. Find replacement rear bumper as it has a crack (hence why it went to auction
4. Fix worn drivers bolster and a little on the passenger side
5. Clean wheel hubs and paint them
6. Touch up callipers as paint chipped
7. Clean hood as marked a little
8. Fix number plate lights in rear broken
9. Find radio code for CD-R-22
10. Paint peeling paint on wing mirrors
12. Clean out drains
13. Polish headlights
14. Replace rear passenger light as it has a tiny crack in it
15. Clean carpets
16. Use my Porsche Scanner to check codes and health

Will keep you posted! But here a few post polish photos:

Oops Sorry. I have just turned 48 and my eyesight has deteriorated over night so I can barely see the screen let alone the numbers.

Admin/mod, please can this be moved to 986? Thanks

I just use leather filler and some black leather dye. Slap the filler on and then sand it back smooth. There is an art to it and using a hairdryer between coats works well…
