Seat back adjustment

The passenger seat in my 94 coupe does not recline at all. Matter of fact the most rearward position is about even with the driver's side seat all the way forward position.
Before my ownership, seems like the gears got out of alignment. When I take it to an upholstery place they tell me to go to my Indy Shop. My Indy shop tells me to go to a Body Guy. My Body guy wants nothing to do with it.
Who can fix it? GF refuses to go for any trip longer than 20 minutes.
Is the Dealer Shop the last resort?
Help!

An indy shop should have the means to diagnose and fix. Body and upholstery guys won't have anything to do with it.
With that said, it'd probably be a whole lot cheaper and easier to replace with a known good seat. It's 4 bolts and less than an hours worth of work that anyone can do. And it'd be a lot easier than disassembling the seat, undoing upholstery, replacing motors, realigning cables, putting everything back together and getting the upholstery put all back without wrinkles. Sure it can be done but getting into a seat and diagnosing motors and alignment issues is an all day affair that I've only attempted once and will never do again with so many good used seats out there.

Is the seatback electric or manual? If electric, get some detoxit and spray it around the switch on the exterior of the switch. I had a similar issue with my 951 and this has fixed it for good.

It is electric. The switch works fine. The seat works fine. Just the adjustment on the angle of the seat back is whacked.

The Indy Shop that I took my car to wanted to be sure that my passenger side seat should not have 4 way seat switch.
I just want confirmation that my passenger seat switches are "normal".
Thanks for any input.

OP,
if this is your seat, Those switches will only (electrically) adjust the pitch of the seat bottom … Front switch will adjust the seat bottom under the thighs up and down.
The back button adjusts the back of the seat bottom (under your ***) up and down.
The seat back recline is going to be a handle on (under) the front of the seat. One handle slides the whole seat forward and backwards the other handle reclines the seat back (these adjustments are both manual, not electric).

Thank you everybody who has commented. I took the front cover off of the passenger seat. I see the handle to slide the whole seat for and aft. I do not see any way to change the seat back angle.
What am I missing?
Thanks,

There is, or at least there should be, another handle that's on the left side of the passenger seat closer to the torque tube tunnel.
the level should be underneath the passengers left knee area you pull up on it and the seat back manually adjusts (reclines / unreclines) ...
Note: once you pull up on that left handle you must use your upper back to lean (push) against the seat back and it should recline ... if you take body pressure off, the the seat back should straighten up.
It's all pretty clearly spelled out and shown in images in the owner's manual.
I'd attach photos but my 968 is not here right now.

Does the driver's side on your car have the inboard handle? Maybe you can compare and contrast. I can't see very well in the picture but maybe it's just come loose and/or gone missing. I don't know how it's connected, so I'm just speculating right now.

Unfortunately, I see no second handle. I also do not see a place where it would attach.
Zirconocene-I will check my driver's side seat tomorrow and report back.
Thanks,
Yogii
