I'm dropping the car off tomorrow to get the dash replaced. It's OEM but was dyed to match my car. Probably should have them replace the dash lighting too.

Most of the dash lights are in the gauge pack which comes out fairly easily vs dash removal which is a bit more of a project. Perhaps when your mechanic is pulling the dash he could hand you the gauge pack you could replace and hand back. There are a few LED suggestions on the forums. You can also improve the light tunnels which lose their silverish paint.

I had my instument panel out a few years ago when the speedometer gear went bad. While it was out, I took all the silver paint off the light tunnels, and put on standard aluminum tape used for HVAC. Between that, and replacing the bulbs with brighter LED bulbs, my instument lights went from totally dark to nice and bright.

Those are the two differences I found while I recently followed the very helpful Clark’s instructions when I recently replaced my dash.
Good luck.

Hi All, revisiting this old thread since I'm looking for options for the old split dash issues that seem to plague these cars.
Anyone have a good used OEM dash for sale?
Anyone know how 'Justdashes' handle the vent area?

I bought a new dash from Jeff. Had a very reputable shop here in Vegas remove my old dash, dye new dash and install. Very pleased with result. I watched part of the removal and replacement process. Very tedious. I’m glad I found a shop that had the experience and could do it right. The removal, dye and installation was around $2000. The dash that was removed is not that bad and would make a good donor. Before removing your old dash send this one to Just Dashes have it filled and recovered and then do the reinstall DIY if you are so inclined. That process will save having your car off the road until the replacement is ready for install. Pm me if you are interested in my old dash.

I did similar and have my old dash still. It's probably in the top quarter as far as it's condition is concerned but since my car came with an OEM dash, I went ahead and made the swap.
If interested, let me know and I'll take some pictures.

I was just looking at Classic9 leather shop, thinking about a leather dash upgrade.
Back in 2013 I had Robert Budd send me new seat leathers, which I had installed locally. Anyone have experience with their dashboard work? The seats were great.
