You don't need that piece to do a rear seat delete. Just install some carpet pad to smooth out the bare metal seat and install the Perlon over.
This was a kit I helped develop for 944/951 with AppBiz. I believe they sell the rear seat delete kit separate. You could also DIY.

Thanks!
For those who haven't seen it, there's another thread going in the general 944 forum here, https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...arpet-diy.html , where in post #6 I have a link to the PDF that documents the complete carpet kit install.

Had some time yesterday arvi to finish off my Rear Seat Delete Shelf..
Carpet arrived midweek, and was superb quality Perlon..
Step One: Murder Scene the underside of the Carpet with Chalk, leaving enough on the leading edge to fold over..
Spray Contact Adhesive on this, and the Top of the Shelf including the Keep Bar..
Lay Shelf down and press onto Carpet, making sure the Carpet gets into the Keep Bar angles etc. Then flip and spray leading edge..
Leave a generous Hem to fold over..
Cut, Spray and Fold..
Don’t forget that Trailing Carpet is required off the back of the Shelf to overlay into car Boot..
Flip, Smile and crack open a Beer..

Fantastic. Great to see those photos of the shelf dimensions - and that someone is actually still using them. I took the photos from my white CS back in March 2006! 14 years later and still put to great use (thanks to Marv for hosting them). Re the shelf fixing, they are indeed fixed to the car, see the brackets in the photos.

I have the brackets [cost me more than all the materials I used to make the Shelf!!], but apparently the Shelf was fixed to the Rear of the Seat section too, to stop any fore and aft movement..?
I have next week off Work, so shall be installing the Shelf sometime then.. I'll post Photos..

I believe their website is fairly old (pre 944 kit) so it's not on their site but i'm sure they still supply them.
Give them a call if your interested. As I recall they have a variety of materials available for their kits, I recommend ordering a few samples to make your selection.
I ordered samples from multiple suppliers so I could be mistaken on what they offer.
I chose Perlon Felt Black, shown in the photos above. Thin material but a good look and light weight.
I would use floor mats if daily driven or had passengers in the car often but it's not and i'm typically alone.
The custom heel plate I added, (which is now black plywood) protects the drivers side so no floor mats.
