Yeah Damian, I did see the Ad. But nowhere did it say that it was turbo charged. I have a feeling it is an NA. Based on all my research, there were only 2 Heimrath turbo cars, one was a turbo RS and the other a turbo S, his personal car which I bought.
Fortunately, there won't be any other ones like it . It was one of my smarter decisions in life to buy it.
Jeff, I am using stock pads currently and yes it can be tiresome to clean them after every drive. I might look into after market pads in the future but for now they will have to do. I had a specialist paint the centers to match my car's interior and it looks really nice and goes well with the big reds. As a matter of fact the interior goes well with big reds as well.
I also have a set of 18"speedline polished 3.6 rims but I prefer running 17s most of the time and plan to use the 18s just for meets and shows.

you already know what i think of your car!

quick question: is it bad if water gets into the engine bay through the Naca ducts (driving in the rain)? I had always thought it was a bad idea to get any water inside, but I might be wrong. But then again, maybe water will just vaporize inside ...hmmm i think i just answered my own question

Chris, typically the NACA ducts are there for a purpose but in the 968 turbo S case, only the drivers side is suppose to provide any function. If you look at a factory turbo S car, you will see that the airbox has an opening that mates directly into the drivers side NACA duct. For this reason, the drivers NACA duct bends towards the center of the car and is not a straight shot. This feeds cold air to the system but the passenger side NACA duct just flows air to the distributor cap? go figure. I think they just did it to balance the looks.
I have seen that NACA ducts suck water in when it rains but as you stated, due to heat the water turns into vapors very quickly.
NACA ducts next for you?

Wow,

Might as well give up now.

I thought the engine was from a 968 turbo S (the yellow one)?

Beautiful car. Just a question, is this a factory Turbo S, or one of the Heimrath-built replicas?

It is the Heimrath built replica that is being modified further by me with original factory turbo S and RS parts.
Thanks.

Thanks for the precision. Your Turbo S is drop dead gorgeous, do you have pics of the engine?

It is believed the only North American registered factory Turbo S was purchased in Canada, and out of curiosity and interest I'm trying to track it down. Since Heimrath built a number of replicas, I was wondering if the Canadian registered factory TS had been used by the former Porsche dealer to develop the conversion to Turbo specs. Another possibility is that Montreal Ferrari dealership owner T. Hilfiger has the car in his private collection, which includes no less than a 959 and McLaren F1. In any event, I thought maybe you had the car in your possession.

Is the car lowered? If so.... what manufacturer did you use?

Chris, was that you I spoke to a few months back? I know teh car I own was his personal car. Besides that I don't know much.
Midblue, thank you. Its not lowered as much as I would like. Its standard 968 M030 stuff, nothing fancy with charlie arms up front. I plan on dropping the back atleast an inch and front atleast /12 inch.

968TurboS, we may have had an exchange, I can't remember. I'm a bit familiar with Heimrath's creations, I know nothing specific about your car, this is why I asked whether you owned a factory TS, it could very well have been one considering where it comes from, however if you're not familiar with the circumstances surrounding Heimrath's development work on the Turbo S I'll be glad to fill you in with the story. Leave me your email, or write to me.

And now, those engine pics we're all waiting for?

The car that is in Great Britain is not the same as the one pictured above, although they share the same colour. I believe the one you saw advertised has racked up more than 60,000 miles, hence maybe the "low" £18k price tag.

(Raj, my apologies for wandering off topic)
