'92 MY on ebay
Don't post much in here but just curious.
I keep my eye out for the thread "ebay finds etc." in 968 forums when it's bumped.
This one might have made the list and I missed it but in either event, why is this car not attractive at this price....?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-Porsch...5:pf:0&vxp=mtr
Definitely not affiliated but I keep looking at it, tempted to buy but it's been listed 2-3 times with nobody willing to "buy now" for $10,600....?

I see nothing that describes it history. Carfax hard to read. Looks clean, but without knowing service history could be looking at $10,000+ deferred maintenance right off the bat. At that many miles a lot needs to be replaced.

Depending on what it needs and how much of the work you can do yourself, I might be VERY low. Do not forget Porsche parts premium!
I bought a well maintained car that had sat for the last 12 years->6000 miles in that time-and that is what it cost me.
So yes, without a PPI, I would expect that at a minimum.
Please remember that I am new at all this, but depending on what it needs-brakes, new rubber hoses, timing belt, water pump, A/C compressor, clutch, clutch and brake masters and slaves, transaxle work. torque tube bearings. I could be very low! That is why a PPI is always suggested. That least you have some idea what you are getting into.

Car has rebuilt, salvage, or totaled title depending on state + over the 100K mark. Otherwise on surface looks like a nice car. If you wanted one as a driver and did not care about reselling in the for-see-able future it looks like its fairly priced nice color. But know for sure no matter how well you maintain it your going to suffer the same issues selling it to P people who will care greatly about the branded title. One of the highly thought of SY cabs had trouble shaking this branded title issue to get close to the value assigned to others with a clean title.

Replacing a lot of parts that do not need to be replaced is an easy way to spend a lot of money on a car. That car might be a great driver for 5 years with under $2K in catch-up, if you do your own work.
Thankfully a lot of stuff like rubber hoses, brake lines, etc. have really stood the test of time on the 968. If it's really under 110K miles it I'd be worried about the timing belt and variocam ramps early, clutch and DMF in the next 30-40K maybe. Motor mounts at some point. But unless money is no object and you want to replace what you can to make the car as new as you can running costs might be very reasonable.

Looks like a nice car at a great price. I highly doubt that you would spend $10K in the car.....if you don't know when the timing belt was done, you could do that.....even with all OEM parts including a rebuilt water pump, it was $828 when I bought all the parts a few years back with a rebuilt pump from Porsche.
Maybe if you wanted to replace stuff that didn't need to be replaced, you could spend $3K in parts, but that's a lot of parts. I assume you would do the work yourself.
I love that it has the original radio, love the colors. Very nice indeed. Best of luck!

I'm a 30 year experienced tech guys, helped build up a 968 SP3 car owned by a friend that my son races.
We have a fleet of 944/968 race cars all built up from ground as a shell by me.
Bought my first 16V 944S with in 1990 with the engine disassembled and in boxes....
Still have car with 300K on it.
Advice heeded.
Belts, water pump.
Replace all fluids.
General tune up, cap, rotor, plugs, wires.
Replace pads and rotors.
4 wheel alignment - I do my own.
$1500 tops.
Salvage title (says previously hit in rear corner), not issue for me.

Looks like a nice car. It is very early car. #44 of the 2,234 coupes. It still has its rare early car recessed hood and larger edged rear emblems. It has lost the engine compartment rear trim wiring cover.

That looks like a great car if you are looking for a nice looking driver. Sounds like you know what you are getting into maintenance wise. Other than catching up on the timing and balance belts, you really don't know what repairs you'll run into driving a car like this. Looks like it was taken care of to me. I'd make an offer like $10,200 just to save myself $400.

This car sold at the beginning of September. I was considering buying it then. I believe it was listed for ~$6500. He messaged me a day after listing saying that it was sold and the guy who bought it "plans on restoring it with his 14 year old son." I have the previous owner's phone # if anyone has questions about it.
Looks like the current seller had the tops of the door cards repainted, they had sun damage previously. same with the top of the dash. I have a video from the previous owner of it starting up and a look at the interior.
