Question 1994 coupe 80,000 mile refresh

My recently acquired 80,000 mile coupe only had 6,000 mile in the last 12 years put on it before I bought it. I am having all the "usual suspects" addressed.
Wondering if I should have the cam and crank reference sensors changed too? I understand that when these fail it is a "no go" situation.
For the crank sensor, I understand that there are mechanical sensors as well as electric sensors(Hall's sensors). Should these parts be replaced after 25 years?
Are the electric sensors better-last longer-than the mechanical sensors?

Thanks,

Yogii

Its cheap insurance to swap them. As you suggested, I would change both. There are no mechanical parts that should need changing as far as the speed and ref sensors. For 80K,

I would perform the following:
All belts and rollers including timing and bs belts
Coolant service with new water pump
Cam chain and tensioner pad service
Check for leaks and address them as needed
Check caster blocks for wear
Check engine mounts for wear
Check clutch disc material leftover
Check front swaybar bushings for wear and address
Check controla rm ball joints for wear

Thanks, all done plus rubber vacuum hoses, brake lines, disks and pads, led light kit. So change the reference sensors?

Thanks,

The flywheel speed/reference sensor is usually OK, it's the wiring to the sensor that is sometimes chafed or cracking. However the 968 harness seems to stand the test of time better than the old 944 stuff, less brittle and prone to falling apart.
An exception to this is the connector on the Hall sensor which has fallen apart on my 1992 968. The sensor is fine the 3 pin connector has crumbled. This actually seems to be the same connector as the flywheel speed/reference sensor. I am replacing the wire and connector using a cheap Volvo reference sensor I am cutting the wire off of. Maybe ozone from the distributor damages this plastic? I do not know.

The 16V 944/968 use a single sensor at the flywheel where the 8V cars had two back there.

There are a few more rubber and paper bits on the intake side.

If you send the injectors out for a cleaning, witchhunter supplies new o-rings with the service. Pulling the intake gains access to the AOS seals and the chance to dab some RTV on the upper balance shaft housing rear seal. There are two o-rings at the throttle plate where it slides into the intake that can be replaced also.
