Roger that. Can you talk a little about key areas the 944/968 need enhanced to make them more competitive on the track? Other than the driver...

There's a GT3 Cup that rules the NASA (and maybe PCA) lap record for our local track.
I once broke down several turns only sectors and ran synchronized video of both car's in car view...the result is that the SP2 car can equal the Cup in ET through turns sectors.
It's all about power/weight from there.
The 944T/968, lap for lap. turn for turn commitment by the driver will have to be on a level above the risks that the 996 will have to take to go the same speed, that's why I brought up the driver.
If you watch a race from an elevated viewpoint and witness the 944 family car's attitude and driver inputs that are required to hold off several 996s, and you walk away after checkers and think "yeah, I think I could do that", then I'd say, go for it.

During my years of driving transaxles in autox and Porsche club events (not racing) there’s only 996 gut and turbos that usually match or beat the performance of the 968 with light mods. Around the corners and during braking the 968 is a weapon and you need to use the nimbleness and possibility to go on the throttle early to win ground so the faster cars on the straights doesn’t catch up.
Its so great to hunt 997 RS’s in tight sections and the turbo cars can’t hold their stand.
But sure, at track I drive it like I stole it where as the owners of the expensive and collectors cars usually don’t drive at their limits.
For me a regular 996 is a great cruiser but really not get close to the feeling of a lightly modded 968 or 951. And there are Boxsters/caymans/996/997 everywhere but almost no transaxles around anymore at these events.
I really enjoy being in the “cheap” underdog and scare the pack of wild dogs.
With 50hp more it would be keeping up with them, with 100hp more it’s they who need to try to catch me!

it will physically fit without chopping up the car but it's got a front sump and with the stock intake, it's about 8-10" taller than a 944/968 motor so you would need to ditch the hood
and despite being all aluminum they weigh around 600lbs ready to run and the best factory ones only got 350hp.
doable, but not practical.
they chopped that panel quite open.

No pic of the chopped up panel or similar builds? If going that route i want it to be stock looking.
Is replacing the stock wiring harness With the turbo harness of any trouble?
Will there be any issues With the dash or instruments?
Planning on a vems-unit or some other ECU.
