Question Airbag light not off with Bosch Hammer.

Or, in fact the Hammer doesn’t find the air bag system at all. It does find the DME and alarm, and analyses them no problem.

From somewhere I read that there should be an airbag module behind the radio. What does it look like? I couldn’t find anything obvious even I took the whole centre console off. Could it be somewhere else on my car, -92 LHD cab?
Or is it even separate item from the DME computer behind the glove box?
I believe cutting the white wire with black tracer behind the glove box would get me rid off the airbag light. And I suppose it would reset the caution sing too… or am I wrong?
However I would keep this as a last resort as I’d quite like to have the air bags. I wonder if they would work now.

Any help or ideas how to proceed would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Erkki

Koirra, all snipping the wire does is, stop it from illuminating the light in the cluster. It does not stop teh airbag from working.
I wish I could help you but not familiar with LHD cars.
Sorry.

Thanks for help Raj.
So did I get it right that snipping the wire would take the caution sign off as well?? And I don't have to remove the battery to allow the capacitor to recharge.

LHD is the normal left hand drive as in continental europe and US.
I am in UK(only just now remembered to ad to profile, sorry), where most of the cars are RHD and therefore I stated the LHD.

Would you happen to know if there is a separate "air bag" module or something which else somewhere which could cause this fault... or perhaps the wiring to it.

Thanks,

Erkki
