1993 porsche 968 struts
The front struts leaking on my car. Is this something a diy can do? If so what else should I be looking at while in there. Are their any write up on replace the struts?

Yes, it is a diy. Pelican has some reference. depending on what typ eof struts (oem, koni adjustibe) the job changes. It is easy to drop the front arm and drop out the strut and you don't have to mess around with a spring compressor. inside the fender well. I took mine to a shop and paid them to swap the springs rather than bouncing a spring off my garage wall.
What else to do? Brakes, rotors, SS brake lines, castor blocks? Other rubber bits after inspection.

It's not that difficult I compress the springs without using any specific tools. Load 2 studs of the wheel hub using a 2 x 4, and your jack. Loosen the strut tower nut and gently bring down the jack. Done it plenty of times without any issues. You can also use the same process to compress the springs.

Do order the bump stop and boot for whatever you purchase. There is also a foam dust seal for the upper strut mount.
inspect and lubricate the upper mount if it isn't smooth. Not a cheap part but search the threads here for the bearing number.

I purchased the Koni Sport inserts from Jason at Paragon. Good price and Jason is a wealth of knowledge on the phone (as recently as two weeks ago he arranged for me to get a Saturday delivery of a Tiptronic filter kit) and as posted above has lots of support links on his site.
Cutting and painting the struts was fairly straightforward. If this isnt your cup of tea, I may have a spare set of 968 struts that I can cut, drill, and paint yellow all prepped for your newly purchased strut inserts to bolt-in for a few bucks.
I also replace the two bolts at the bottom that hold the strut, depending on mileage and how many people aligned the car the eccentric bolts and eccentric washers get buggered up and are fairly cheap.
Dont forget after you do all the while your in-there-stuff as mentioned above you will need an alignment from a good shop. You can mark things and get close but I'll bet its been a while since you've had one anyway.
