Default winter storage - sort of...

First, I am a new owner of a '94 968 Coupe. And it is truly quite exciting to drive after many a 'family' car. But winter has descended on New England and its locked up in the garage for now...which leads to this question:

Are there any storage-related actions I should take specific to the 968...don't want to miss anything...

I have my cab covered in the garage with a nice trickle charger connected (get one from www.carcareonline.com ) . I'll start it up anyway once a week or so, and will drive it when the roads are clear. Try running the AC every once in a while, it'll keep the compressor seals lubricated too.

Bill Hawe's has an article on the PCA N/E region web site that is pretty comprehensive. I bought my car in July and plan on taking Damian's approach.

Bills article is at http://www.porschenet.com/winter.html

All depends on how you plan to store it. Damian will store it as well, but he will keep it running so technically speaking the car will still be used. The procedures is a little different if you plan to just sit it the entire time.
If you have a better idea of how you want to store it, it would help to determine proper procedures.
Regards.

Shamus, that was a very good link-I didn't think about leaving the seats tilted forward, although it makes sense in hindsight.

Yes a "twin" turbo, powered by two strapping (almost) three year old boys. Aidan on the right, Ryan on the left.

Sadly, its just a stock '93 with 83000 miles. But I love it none-the-less!

Default better just drive it!

Thanks all for the input..and Shamus, that article you linked was a most compelling argument for DRIVING regularly...and it was clearly written by someone who had thought it all through...I'm always a little nervous about believing all that I fine when searching a bulletin board...who is right! and who is making it up! But it will be useful to me.

And hey, its just some snow, and here on the Cape, winter is generally a little gentler and conditions are better than Phil's LI photo shows and what I know Shamus is looking at today.

Thanks again for the advice/link.

Best,

David
