Hey Steve, love the fancy alignment machine shots, but where's your before and after numbers sheet please?

As you see I've been trying to get my 965 back to its former glory, It's been a long road, It's a very expensive toy. My latest project was finding the original 5 1/4 speaker and Porsche 964 speaker grills. They are hard to find but I finally found a set, I first bought a backplate from DC auto the found a grill on eBay, One down and one to go it took a while. Then I waited a while, Finally a Porsche 964 complete speaker grill came up on eBay and snatched it.

Here's some before and after pics including a new project 74 911.

Hey Porsche friends.

It's that time of year, Spring is almost here. What have I done to her over the winter. Well, I installed Rothsport poly bushing to the steering rack and the Rothsport stressing reinforcement brace. It seems to feel better, less rubbery. I have plans to install 964 RSR style tie rods inners and outers from fvd . it should make the experience a lot better.

I also noticed a small oil drip coming from the right rear of the engine. Removed the intercooler and I had a leak in the oil breather area, I replaced the oil breather hose and the O ring seal on the thermostat. I did really good job cleaning the area. I plan on inspecting the area in 30 days to make sure it's dry

I also had the exhaust tip Ceramic finished including the Turbo bracket in semi-gloss black. I just hated that the bracket was all rusty looking. One of the great things that I use is Car Pro Reload. It's a sacrificial layer of ceramic coating great stuff when you have ceramic coated paint.

I also tuned the aftermarket amp under the passenger seat. Thanks to Youtube. Wow, what a difference. Sounds great now. I have fun doing these things, It's all part of the experience of owning a 964 Turbo, Right

Love seeing your Turbo. I didn’t know about your GT clone. Be interested in talking with you about that some time.

holy crap!! ran over a rock with BOTH front tires/rims?!!! ouch.

That must have felt like SOME kinda hit,... cuz you had to have some speed to do that damage. Must have come right up through the steering wheel too. ugh. My heart would have sunk right into my stomach.

Sorry to see that Helio

I second that. You are lucky you didn't have a blowout. Glad nothing else happened.

So we are on lock down here with little to do. They don't even want us going for rides. I can't get parts to finish the work I am doing on my C2 and my friend's body shop is quiet so I decided to do a sunroof delete on the car. He figures it will be done by early July hopefully we will be long past this craziness by then.

Stay well everyone.

Thanks , Steve and Tony

I was a rather large rock as you can tell it, I didn't see until the last second, dam construction on the 66. You're right it didn't blow out the tires. It was both wheels on the right side, front, and rear. I have a friend that owns wheel shop a mile away, He looked at them, He said He can fix like new, fairly cheap, I will report back with pic's soon

Wow that's nuts and yes glad to see it didn't send ya for a loop. Curious if that metal can be heated and straightened without making it too weak...the rim pieces can be bought

The wheels have been at the shop for a week now, if they say that they feel it has weakened the wheel, I will order new outers,

While the car is up in the air, I'll be looking to replace the tie rods with FVD's Sport RS/965 mono ball tie rods inner's and outer's, I've heard great things about these, I had these type of mono ***** tie rods on other G body 911's, With every else I changed I think this should make the biggest difference and make the 965 feel more connected like my 74 911S with 930 Turbo tie rods. I will be starting a new thread about RS spec height and bump steer and so on.

So you are saying our 964 Turbos don’t come with “turbo tie rods” as specced on 930s, but a newer, less-direct feeling version? Interesting. Keep us posted.

Hi Brandon
That's what I thought. From what I've read, even the 965 Turbo Light S, have the rubber joint see spec's . I have ordered mine monoball Turbo tierods from FVD, They have a great deal on these.
