Default How do you know what Speedline finish you have?

Just cleaning my Speedlines. Not sure how aggressive to be or what to use as I don't know if they are coated. How do I tell? They look like they are just polished. There is no sign of any lacquer lifting.

Per the Guru's previous teachings, Speedline assembled the wheels and then coated the wheels in one shot.
I don't think there's much you can do to clean them other than wash with soap, water and a soft sponge and use a Q tip on the space between the bolt heads and the inner flange.

Non-clear coated polished wheels will dull over time from use, sun exposure, etc... If a good polishing brings the shine back, then they are not coated.

Paul -- said it best. If you see clear powder coating over the top of the bolt heads and the heads themselves have a dark gray appearance like a galvanized finish those are factory original polished set. Meaning everything has clear powder coated over the face, bolt heads, and outer rims after they were assembled. Many times when disassembling the clear powder coating chips on the centers when the rims slide back over the face. One more thing - if you still see the original etchings "SPEEDLINE for PORSCHE" visible then those are stock and still in original finish. jdorociak@gmail.com jim

Use the PET: http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...artscatalogue/
You can copy it to your hard drive and use it for quick reference.
