In my opinion if you can get him to make you one there's only one person who can make a really great equal length system and thats Bob Holcombe at Mode. Welds are an art form and mine even has heater boxes of sorts...

Jeff, did you ever get that lift installed?

Sweet!

So, I see you're running a cat bypass pipe. Does that pipe run to a muffler, or, does it run to an exhaust "tip" and dump directly to atmosphere?

It is a bad pic, but it goes to a muffler.. My exhaust is loud (esp under WOT) but not obnoxious, in my opinion

Jeff, that actually looks like the factory muffler. Though, from what I understand, that's not all bad.

I've seen a 965 muffler cut open, with its top skin removed, and it appeared to have a very open, free-flowing, design. Obviously, one thing the factory improved from the 930...

My turbo 993 is more like a 965 as it is a 95 Ruf Btr. I was bummed about how quiet it was. Today I removed the muffler for a bypass and that was all it needed. Didn't mess with cats or anything else. Sounds great. And a very cheap mod.

Javier, your 993 has two mufflers, correct? One for each cylinder bank?

So, you essentially replaced each muffler with a simple straight pipe?

Would you happen to have a sound bite of the before/after?

My set up is pretty close to the 965. The Ruf BTR is a single turbo 993. Yes, I took out muffler and replacedwith a pipe. I may be able to put a clip together. I have a crude one of stock set up.

The turbo is on one side of the engine. Not in the middle. How can you ever have an "equal length" exhaust without making the closer pipes longer (inducing lag)? The difference in exhaust travel is inches. Does it matter enough to buy one of these?

If you look at the RarlyL8 headers, the two banks are offset to the left side. They are not advertised as "equal length" but rather "near equal length". Good enough for me since they are good for a 15 hp bump. They are on my list of future mods

Just took the after, today. Kinda crude from a camera phone, but you get the idea.

Not so quiet anymore, is it.

I completely missed that your car was a '95, narrow-body, 993...I thought it was a Ruf-massaged, twin-turbo, with AWD.

So, your car is a 3.6L, single-turbo, with RWD? Are all 993-based Ruf BTRs built on a narrow body with single turbo? What turbo did Ruf use in your build? Did Ruf also massage your suspension?

Have you ever timed a run from 100-160 kph or 100-200 kph?
