Which is the best sounding option, cat bypass, mufflers, headers or all of the above? Which company?
Also are the stock shocks on the 3.6 adjustable? Was looking to do Rs or at least Euro ride height...

Any suggestions appreciated..

I like Rarlyl8 headers and muffler. Brian can make you a custom set.

Stock shocks are adjustable only in the fact that you can move ride heights a little bit for corner balancing. You will need aftermarket coilovers from the usual vendors to get to Euro/RS height. Your O.E. shocks are most likely ready for replacement.

I have a B&B exhaust on my Turbo 3.6, the sound is nice its loud at idle "my car has camshafts" but I am planning to replace the muffler due to quality issues.

I have a Cargraphic muffler with wastegate pipe on the way.

If I were you I would get a catbypass pipe and a set of headers that case you retain the oem look but with better sound and performance.

I see you have a F355, I congratulate you for having fine taste in cars. I am planning to get one next.

Back in those days I lusted after a F355 more, 20+ years later the Turbo 3.6 wins my heart but I still have a Ferrari F355 itching I need to scratch.

Best thing to do, I couldnt find oem chrome tips for 3.6

This way you can retain stock look and more sound.

If you retain the oem muffler on the right side of the car you have the oem tips. or there is something U-shaped you can install to eliminate the right muffler and retain oem tips.

In my opinion (and I've gotten several compliments from others) is the exhaust sounds awesome with a cat-bypass (I have a Fabspeed) and the stock muffler. But exhaust is subjective - too loud for some is just right for others. This setup is not loud. Nice and throaty, but not obnoxious at all. I like it more than cat with muffler bypass (which I've also had).

I've got a muffler bypass (brand unknown) with the stock cat. I actually really like the sound and it even passed California smog inspections for the PO.

I have a lot of customers that are very pleased with the increase in sound from the Catbypass pipe. It also helps reduce the lag but more importantly it is not too loud for the road.

Doing a muffler is a great route to go as well because you get rid of the cat as well as the side muffler. We are currently working on a catbypass tip for the waste gate so that when you get our Maxflo you can run a full catbypass.

Fabspeed headers, catbypass and muffler bypass. The wastegate cat is still in place.

I do not find it too loud, but have received many compliments on the sound, esp during hard acceleration.

I have not actually heard it from the outside in real life.. that would mean someone else was driving..

On my 91 turbo, I have BB headers, Fabspeed cat bypass, stock muffler, Fabspeed wastegate bypass and Fabspeed exhaust tips. I think it sounds awesome, but then again I am partial to the sounds of vintage american muscle cars.

Most of the C2 Turbo header/exhaust systems that have a straight pipe out of the wastegate are "really" loud when the waste gate opens.

My car came with a B&B exhaust, (it sounds good at idle, though could be a little louder) it doesn't drone when cruising, it has a nice burble on the overrun, and without a cat it shoots flames at night. But it is really loud when getting after it, whenever the wg is open, even at less than 100% throttle.

Ideally I would prefer the wastegate to be routed through the muffler so it isn't quite so obnoxious.

Also, if I were to purchase an exhaust, I'd probably go with 321 stainless system.

I agree that if you want a more aggressive sound that isn't too loud, the bypass pipe and stock muffler is the way to go. If you stick a gooseneck on in place of the muffler you can hear the turbo spooling. I tried that briefly before I went with the RarlyL8 muffler. That set-up never made it out of my garage, however, as it's really loud.
The ultimate, sweet sounding exhaust comes from tuned headers, IMO. Tuned headers on a small displacement engine make any engine sound like the 917's in the movie "Le Mans". A RarlyL8 header system is on my list of must-do's for the future.
