Default Detailing my new 91 Turbo

I just picked up a 91 Turbo with 28,000 miles. Car is all original and in great shape. It just needs come detailing. and i have a few questions.

Wipers... can I repaint the arms or just but new ones, They are a bit faded, If so what paint should I use.

Wheel studs. What color chould they be.

Exhaust tips. Mine are black, Should they be black or chrome?

Headlights. Does the distilled vidka trick work or just get new??

Thanks and enjoy the photos.

More photos coming..

The wheel nuts should be black aluminum. How can a 22 year old car with 28k on it have faded wiper blades?? Just get some new ones. 91 turbos had chrome tips. Or.... at least mine are not black

Faded or just kind of "dry" looking? You could use back to black on it, let it soak in and wipe off the excess. the same thing can be done with any kind of oil on the metal arms.

I used those household wipes on my 964t headlights. Pulled the lights off, stuck a wipe or two inside and swished it around with a chopstick. Moved the wipe near the bulb hole an pulled it out with long tweezers or hemostats.

Check your ac line on just right of center. There is a bolt on the tail that can rub against the metal line. I got some fuel hose and cut it lengthwise and zip tied it to the hard line.

Excellent car! It sounds like you would be more comfortable with new wiper arms. Unless you can match the satin finish, I wouldn't paint them.
Cleaning the headlight as mentioned above will work. However, it was my experience that they will cloud again. I bought a new one for that reason.
'91s had satin black tips. I believe they were powder coated but, may have been painted.

Congrats on your purchase, it looks to be an expectational one. As for the wiper arms, if you can't get the black back to your liking we should be able to new ones with out a problem. I know the original ones superseded to a different part number. PM me if you interested in pricing. Enjoy you have an amazing car.

What's that non-stock circular gauge in the console in front of the shifter?

Congrats on your purchase. I would buy a new set of wipers and not repaint the old ones.

Best luck with it.

You can buy new arms relatively cheap or use Wurth Black to paint them. The exhaust tips were either black or polished never chrome. From what I have observed metallic colored cars seemed to come mostly with polished tips and non metallic came with black tips although I have seen it the other way around but not very often. A lot of weird stuff happened just like the lower part of the rocker covers some cars came painted the color of the car others in a satin black. Although most of the cars I have seen with polished tips had black rockers.

If your tips are black and faded you can easily strip and polish them.

Black trim paint will do the trick...just clean them up nicely then paint them. I have used it for years...an autobody shop turned me on to it..
There are other brands that sell at an autobody paint store but pep boys has this brand that works very well too..http://www.duplicolor.com/products/trimPaint/

Is Number 17 the part you are talking about? This is a plastic cap cheap enough through local dealer and easier to change. I have a half dozen lying around someplace.

Part number for <1991 is 928.428.423.00 Cap 010 satin black >1992 is 928.628.623.01 Cap 010 satin black.
