Finally had a chance to pull it out of storage. Went for a nice ride (debatable) as I was chased and offered 5 business cards and buy it offers and had everyone and their uncle try to race me off the line. The guy in the Camaro Z28 was a bit shocked as I catapulted by. then headed to my friends shop before heading home.

Heading out for more fun.

@cobalt great car! It is my most favorite car of the ones I own. I remember sitting at a light next to a 2008 Lambo and watching that car scream trying to get away from me. It never did and his head was hung low at the next light. Porsche does their business without yelling. They show up and do the job and walk away with a small grin of satisfaction.

Cobalt.
Your car looks fantastic as always.
I had tires installed today and gave the car a bath. So nice to have warmer temps.
Thanks for all your guidance on new to me 964 Turbo. Previous owner was true gentlemen and appreciate opportunity to buy the car.

Great stuff.

Love the BBS's I am waiting on a set in black for my track car.

So glad to see the white beast back on the road. A stunning example and scary fast.

This is the year to get more miles under my belt although the weather doesn't look good for Sunday's big C&C and drive I am supposed to go on.

@Cobalt - Can you tell me who makes those little wings that attach under the front bumper? Was that an RSR thing? Are they available as a factory part? They look nice.

Default RS Splitters

Hey Tom, Got mine years ago from FVD. Looks like they still sell them...

https://www.fvd.net/us-en/FVD5059641...-rsr-look.html

I also noticed you are not running mud flaps behind your front wheels. You may want to consider those too. If you are still spirit driving yours too, they will save a lot of rash on your quarter hips....

Mine are the actual factory 3.8RS/turboS parts came mounted to the front under trays and have additional louvers for cooling. The FVD parts are good replicas as Steve shows you can also buy from Cult Werks both are very exact replicas.

Excellent - Picking up car today from Road Runner protective films. Wrapped entire front end and rockers with Xpel Ultimate. Now I can drive worry free pretty much year 'round. Car only has 38K on the clock and is a nice example. But it literally BEGS to be driven. Thanks so much for all the info; I ordered a set of those front RSR wings yesterday. I'll also get those little mud flaps.

I had a 2012 TurboS before this and I have to say, this car does it for me. Even more than the Turbo S did!

Good point Tony. The FVD splitters need to be pop-riveted to the lower valance on each side. BadBoys Mike gave me an extra set of valances he had, so I count preserve my originals, and pop-rivet the FVDsplitters to the set he gave me. So ONTO the shelf my originals went,... along with all the other original parts I still have for the car.

Installation of FVD splitters was pretty easy to line up, given FVD splitters already have bigger "access" holes (not the little pop-rivet holes) to line up with the factory mounting holes in valances. I just used a pencil to mark exactly where I wanted them, and then used a punch to mark exactly where I wanted the pop-rivets. Once done with that, I then proceeded to take several weeks to smear JB Plastic weld (sand smooth, apply more JB plastic, sand smooth, repeat / repeat, repeat, until I was ready for paint + clear + XPEL Ultimate). The JB plastic is around the perimeter of the splitters, which makes them look & feel like they were originally all one piece (since I cannot afford, nor find, the original RS3.8 unobtainium valances like Cobalt has!!). So now when I lean down to feel under & around the splitters, it actually feels like a smooth transition from splitter plastic, to factory valance plastic. Hope that makes sense. It came out Ok. I think I have a picture around here somewhere.

Yep, found a couple pics of the installed FVD Splitters. But rather than post here (since this is a "car" pic thread),.. I'll post it over on the NA 964 "how to" thread...

https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...r-install.html

Good luck Tom. PM me if you want to talk further about riveting them to your valances.

@ FEKGT3 - nice white giant! I have white over tan. Did you find those white blanking plugs for front plate holes somewhere easy? Need some.

General question: did all these come from factory with a strut brace? Mine does not have one installed...

No the turbo's did not come standard with the strut brace. I believe they were standard on the RS/RSR and possibly turbo S. The factory brace was made by Heigo p/n 964.343.529.70

Rothsport makes one that looks quite similar but the end brackets are a bit larger. There was specific carpet for these when optioned which are cut and sewn to work with them. I just run my carpet over the top of it.
