CCW classic pic request
I am thinking about swapping my centers for some classics and wanted to see what they look like and on the 964t. Any thoughts of gold centers on a black car?

They would look great. I have never seen them on a 964T that I can remember. I have seen them on 930's quite a bit and with the big dish they can run. It looks awesome!
I remember talking to John @ CCW about the classics on the 964. You would have to run the race version, so no center caps. I also remember him saying something about less lip with those wheels because of the way the face is. There is a good chance you would need new lips, barrels and centers to make it work. Give John a call though.

If you really want a change - might I suggest you change your rear tailing arms and put the narrow body arms on your car then you can run 11.5 - 12" wide wheels but even more importantly you can run a deep rear lip anywhere from 3.75 to 4.25 depending on the center chosen. Moacur, I talked to him briefly and he said it would work but we were jut talking about the wheels in general, not specific application.
Jim, I looked into it but it seemed to get expensive with all the things needed to change. Have you ever heard of a est to get it done?

Well, the trailing arms for a narrow body 964 probably could be had for $500 or so, but the real question is the cost to have them changed out and getting the right brake calipers as I am not sure if the 965 rear calipers would work or if you would have to go to 964 RS/RSR calipers, but they sure look good with the deeper rear lip. The gray car is a 930 based platform with aero mirrors. 930's can run a 0 offset so a 4 plus inch lip is possible. The 964 turbo on the other hand is a different story. Most of the 964's that have those big lips are wide body conversions. Its cheaper to flare a narrow body car than do a proper NA trailing arm job on a turbo.

Well, I am not sure if NA axels would work, do not know why not. same for the E brake stuff and the rest. It would seem that everything off a narrow body car would just about get you where you need to be. Calipers could be 993 or 964 RSR so some more research could be needed. Porsche did it, so I am sure it can be done. Geoffrey did a race 964 car that was a narrow body car when he started so there is a thread that could be read for additional information. jdorociak@gmail.com jim
