Anyone need Speedlines?
Getting quite expensive for a set of these (and they aren't even new in the box) but like the ad says, how often do they come up for sale? http://www.ebay.com/itm/111009433959...84.m1423.l2649

I saw them, but there are no pics of the part numbers, so no way to see what they really are ...

Too rich for my blood, but out of curiosity, does the 964 RSR take the same offset as the 965?

RSR is the same as the 3.8RS as far as the wheel sizes (non centerlock)
$8k? If thats the market then great but that is a lot of money for a set of wheels. hmm EFI conversion or some speedlines?

Beware, many fakes are also etched.... Even when Jim D 'makes' them, he also etches the rims, his are worth it, ebay knockoffs are not.
I think a new set from porsche with a vin is gonna run about 6k.

These will not fit a 965/964 Turbo as the USA cars have Turbo trailing arms that can not handle the depth of the rear wheel outer lip. If you changed your trailing arms to narrow body standard trailing arms then they would fit. Standard 965 cars take 52 ET 8" fronts and 61 ET 10" The fronts are 1.25" and 6.5" inner and the rears are 1.75" and 8". The set being discussed used either a 4.25 or 4.75" deep rear lip - I am not sure since I have not yet touched a set of 964 RSR rear wheels. A picture of the inside of each wheel center would be key - part numbers would work - they look to have the correct Speedline logo bolts, and the one picture of the inner rear rim looks like a Speedline rim. I also notice a red rubber O ring that Speedline wheels have between the inner and outer rim. My guess is they are as advertised. jdorociak@gmail.com Jim

They are advertised as 3.8RS wheels and offset looks correct for that application. Considering these are far more rare than the turbo version that seems awfully cheap if you need a set good luck finding another.
Meanwhile as many can attest the speedlines are becoming few and far between. I wish I held on to some of the sets I sold. As we know FVD is asking $12k for a set so $8k is a bargain

those are the real deal as Anthony remarked ,they are sold as original for 3.8RSR which is correct..
These have been on the market for some time .I saw them as much as a year or more , values
seem to be fast exceeding his price...Bert

No the 3.8RS used narrow body trailing arms so these will only fit a widebody with narrow body arms. I have the press release paperwork someplace IIRC the rears are 0ET offset although I believe the RSR came with single hub center locking wheels.

I found the paperwork and will try to post it no mention of offset but the RSR did have center locking hubs. For some reason I cannot upload my scans will have to work on that later but the paperwork clearly states "Center locking system for wheels". I had seen a set of RSR wheels before and they had indents that were not drilled through for the lug bolts.

Updated- Here is a link to a C&D article on a champion RSR which lists them as a $4k option. Auto journalistas are wrong a lot so who knows. Would be fun to look at an original order sheet or invoice to see for sure

I've read in a couple of places that the centerlocks were an option on the 3.8RS and RSR's. I'm sure all the delivered RSR's had that box checked but one or two might have snuck out of there with 5 lugs.

I have the order paperwork dated April 11, 1993 assuming it did not change it shows that the Central locking for wheels was an option on the M003(club sport version 3.8RS) and M004(Road version 3.8RS) Price with VAT is shown as 7,716.50DM So whatever that equates to in 1994 dollars will take some research but $4000 sounds about right. The M005(race version 3.8RSR) came with central locking for wheels and Air Jacks standard. If you wanted Air jacks on your street or club sport version it was another 9,315.--DM. Interestingly enough if you wanted Airbags, custom color, radio/cassette, (Blaupunkt "Paris") on your RSR race version they were offered as an option.
Cost of the RS was 225,000DM the Club sport option was an additional 17,020DM while the RSR race version was a cool 270,000DM all numbers include VAT.
I would have to assume this is all correct the documents are signed by Jurgen Barth. Wish I could post the scans.
I don't know if it was noted that the 3.8RS was the first Porsche to wear Speed Yellow. Also only the 3.8RSR was imported to the US at least according to Jurgen.
I also want to point out that although minor there are numerous contradictions in the article vs the paperwork I have they are stating 9.5 and 11.4" wheels the paperwork calls out 9 & 11 HP for the RSR is 320 in the article 325 on the paperwork and others but not worth listing at this time.
