Default What is the Market for a 3.6 Turbo These Days?

Have been doing some searching. I came into some cash recently and wondering what I want to buy with it.

Looks like the market for a sub 100k miles car is around $60k correct?

How is the supply right now?

Thanks

Supply is low, cars seem to getting shipped out of the country. "Sub 100K miles" offers up a wide range of prices. A modded track-rat 3.6 turbo was available for low 50s. Clean, original examples, with mods limited to different exhaust with 30-40K miles seem to be going for high 70's... if you can find them. A few like cars have been purchased by rennlisters recently- they may be able to chime in with more info. Good luck! You're not the only one looking.

condition, condition, condition

originality, originality, originality

options, options, options

all make a difference

50K - six figures, all depends on the above nine criteria

I've been getting inquiries from lots if friends and friends of friends in Germany to help them buy one. While the Euro is still strong overseas buyers will keep the market active for pre-'97 vintage cars. 3.6Ts seem to be in high demand in the US too because of the fun factor and the fact that they look awesome and have a certain rarity effect. With less than 300 left in the country, the market is quite small.

They are becoming hens teeth!!! I have not seen one listed in Panorama or Hemmings for several months. If you have one, keep it!

Well in almost 20 yrs, that ~280 number is likely now < 225

Have not seen any near $50K

Flatbrows, Ss and "package" cars are $150-300 now if in proper condition.

Collected watches for some time too. PP's are the same way. None at any price, and when one comes up for acquisition...

But that Market took a hit in 2008 it took a Big Hit. Some are still very expensive though.

True,, it seems $75k+ is the bottom number for high mileage 3.6 turbo these days.

I paid high $70K with just under 41K miles for mine knowing it needed work. The body is straight and the car is completely stock with sport seats. Knowing the car is coming up 20 years old things have to be have to be replaced and maintained. The engine will need to be resealed in the winter but otherwise I'm very happy with my purchase.

The economy must be getting better. The asking prices have really gone up a lot lately. http://www.excellence-mag.com/classifieds/7520

Yea I was kind of shocked at the prices I saw the other day when I was looking at them. Not even 3.6's just 3.3's. Some of them were pretty ratty too.

Excellence ads usually tend to skew towards overly optimistic pricing...

This ad you reference seems to be a little suspicious actually. I saw this car available on Autotrader for 10K less a couple of weeks ago (in Oklahoma I believe?) with way less miles. Then it disappeared. It had multiple pics, including the one on this ad above. But the pic on the ad above looks like a screen shot that has been reposted.

I'll eat my hat if that car is sold for anywhere near 100K.
