Is it really a good thing that the 3.6 has become a collector/speculators car ?
You can't drive a bar of gold, but then again many collectors probably don't use their cars much. Not many in NZ seem to do much mileage.

As for the 3.6 becoming a collectors car being a good thing, I would say not. Seeing the prices these are going for in the UK I'm already finding my mindset changing. Do you use a GBP 75,000 19 year old car as a semi daily driver? I don't know. Maybe it's better to sell and get a his and hers Cayenne and GT3 and drive the tyres off them?

You gotta stay focussed. Weather permitting, I drive my 3.6T as much as I can. I refuse to let this whole "collector" thing spoil my enjoyment. These are awesome cars to drive and there is always a thumbs up from someone along the way.

For the most part, no one initially purchases these cars in order to own a car that is appreciating - and otherwise to get zero satisfaction out of ownership. The appreciation that is happening now is a bonus than many had not imagined!

I feel the same way about my slant, drive it as much as possible.
Off topic, but the prices on 505 slants are also ticking up lately. The dealer I got mine from last yr wants to buy it back for the same price I paid.

Whatever the market price is for 3.6s these days you always find some dusche that thinks they are over priced. I remember when I sold my Signal Green 3.6, I had a couple of of idiots calling me (one from CT in particular) saying that I was crazy asking in the 80s for it wanted me to sell it for $50K, talking about the Blue Book this and the Blue Book that. Hey if you cant afford it move on. They aren't making any more and every year one or two get bump off the list due to crashes. Only 1 year they made that model turbo....only 1. Sellers get what you want, Buyers pay for it! Thats why mine went over seas, I hated to see it come to that, but but in end it went to someone that appreciated the value of these cars and the rarity of them.

Am not sure if its a proper RUF. If it was, do they have a rear wiper blank put on the existing wiper hole? Boost gauge mounted on top of the center console, RUF exhaust like that?Rear seats? RUF vin plate? please correct me if it is a proper RUF.

thanks.

It's not a RUF VIN car as the ad states:

Built new in 1993 by Porsche to 3.6 Turbo specification - finished in Black with Black interior, this already rare car was professionally uprated by RUF to 3.8 BTR specification in August 1998.
RUF still sells some of the bits and pieces for the 964s today so any car could theoretically be upgraded. The rear seats were simply removed. Still a gorgeous car, but just not "the real thing".

Impressive specs though. Only 1260Kg? That's quite a diet.

Likewise here in Australia there are only 15 964T 3.6's and there are only two that are mint low mileage.
