I have Sumitomo HTR Z III's on mine. 225 front / 285 rear. Inexpensive and ride well.
Tirerack has them as their number 1 tire for Max Performance Summer (ahead of the Conti 3's and Bridgestone RE050A's) -

Can't stand either tire. I have a set of Pirelli's on a second set of speedlines and they are awful. The only positive I can come up with is the stiff sidewall gives better turn in than most of your other tires but the rubber compound has no bite and ride like truck tires. My PS2's are like glue in comparison much more supple ride and handle all conditions well by far the best street tire i have used in the wet. I also found them to be superior to the S02's which I had prior to the MPS2's
I hear the MPS2's now come in a 285 size. I am running 295's since they didn't offer a 285 when I was in the market.

I have good year eagle f1 gsd3 tires. I have heard nothing but good things about the pilots from michelin. How good are they in comparison to these goodyear. I've had an old set of these good years and they rattled the hek out of my car when they started getting old. chevron tires from good year good?
