Default Intercooler / Wing fitment question

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a 965 that had an X33 upgrade performed way back in 1993. I was told by the previous owner that the current intercooler, which I was told was part of the X33 kit (can't seem to find much detail on this kit online?) doesn't allow for the factory wing set up. Right now the car has a 3.8 RS wing, and I would like to put on something less aggressive.

What are my options? Is it true, the Turbo wing won't fit? If so, what will?

Thanks,

PICS ADDED

I think that the x33 cars from Andial had stock wings on them. Post a picture of your intercooler.

I have a 964T with X33 (from the factory) with a stock wing - not sure how the aftermarket X33 option differed...

Thought the factory X33 package was different cams and ported heads. Woudl`nt have thought there was a need for a different intercooler unless something really major was being done with the engine.

10.4l/100km at 120km/h. When I first got my car I drove it at ~120-130 and never got close to 10.4, it was more like 16!!

Thanks everyone for the details. I bought the car through a broker and feel like some of the information was lost in translation.

I have receipts that show work for installing a upgraded intercooler. But there is no details as to which one, or size. I will supply photos in a few.

I was actually the most cautious Porsche 964T owner there was on the first day of purchase (in my first Porsche) on my drive home (from the UK to Germany). A number of cars were passing me (at over the speed limit of course) and were probably wondering why I was only going at the speed limit.

There was mass temptation to drive a lot faster, but I didn't want a speeding ticket nor to crash the Porsche on my first day. On the second day, well, that was a different story on home ground!!

So, it looks like the intercooler was not part of the upgrade. The stock tail should fit.
