Simon,

I run 34 front and 42 rear with Bridgestone S02's on the same sizes as you which is just a little lower than recommended which is 36/44 i think.

Thanks for the replies.

I only use it on the road. It's never going to be as comfy as running the standard 17's but I like the look of the 18's!!
It runs straight and true on the motrway (er... freeway) with no pull either way, or tram-lining. But build up speed on a straight (narrow) country road and its all over the place and takes all my effort to keep it straight!!

Isn't that also down to tyre choice? What are you running on and how old are they?

Pirelli P Zero's. The fronts came with the car last summer and had hardly been used (but not sure how old they are)? The rears were only fitted for it's MOT at the same time. Tread wear is even across all wheels. I had a full alignment carried out a few months back after fitting new springs, top mounts and bushes all round.
As I said, on a smooth fast road it runs straight and smooth, and it even seems to handle well when shown a corner or two in anger!! Just straight country lanes where it starts to wander all over the place at speed!??

I have a set of the 17 inch cups (7'' & 9'') which were factory fit. I may bolt these on and go for a run to see how it feels?!

I didn't get on with P-Zero Rossos on my car as the rim protector caught the arch under compression (especially in the dip on the triangle before climbing the hill) and in the wet i thought the car felt loose.

I guess it is all about feel and if you have quite a bit of tread i'd experiment with pressures a bit. On the P-Zero Rossos i ran 32 front and 40, or even 38, in the rear.
