I did the same thing to my RH wheels about 6 months ago.. I polished and did not clear coat.. All I do is clean them 1 a week and they look great.. Have no problems at all.

jonizz,

when you re assembled the 3 piece, did you have to use any special glue or sealant? i just bought a set of used wheels and am thinking about removing the old looking clear layer. how many hours did it take you to finish each wheel.

Hello C4WIDEBODY,

That's exactly what problem I have now. My finished speedline are leaking some air. Normaly there is a rubber seal between the barrel of the rim and the outer rim. I didn't reuse them and whent with normal sealant. But apparently this is not enough. Now I am looking for new original rubber seals because I asume thas is the way to go.

The total amount of time for all four wheels is hard to say. Removing all the bolts is a pain in the ***. I did the job in a week, but that was only in the evenings after work.

If somebody knows where I can get the original rubber seals, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
