Don't know what the process is called in english but it's "verdicht" or "verdichtung" in german
procedure is called "hochglanzverdichten" which means high gloss compacting, actually a surface treatment with ceramic bowls.

never the less, they recomand a "nano" sealing after that.....

good job, jonizz. did u apply new o-ring seals?

@hawk911;
why don't you take one bolt out so you can see exactly what kind of bolts you need.

Mine are not the same as your speedlines. The star is inside the bolt head, not outside like yours. Honestly, I'm afraid to break one.

This is the bolt head- again not like the turbo head. I tried some Allen wrenches- the 5mm was a bit tight and 4 was too loose, and the 3/16 was just a bit loose but the closest fit.

Hi fritz,

Would you recommend this process for speedline wheels? The other option is just to have them polished (centers and outer lips) and then just protect them with wax and polish regularily. Probably works if you only drive the car during the summer months?

In holland we call that process "hoogglans verdichten". It has a finish like nothing else. But it will cost you more $$$. In holland they will charge you around 900 euro for 4 wheels.
Both finishes are not suited for use in bad weather. You have to polish them both on a regular basis.
The advantage that "hoogglans verdichten" has is that it is easier to clean. Dirt, brakedust, etc doesn't stick that easy on the wheels.

you should try to google; hoogglans verdichten. This way you should get a good impression on what this process means and look like.

Alright, thank you jonizz. I'm sorry for the semi-OT. Did not mean to steal your thread. You did a wonderful job on the speedlines, very nice! Now we will just wait for the snow to melt .

@Jonizz, Firstly.. Nice job on the rims!
I am now busy refurbishing my Speedlines, who did you use to powdercoat the inner bowls and what did it cost? Also what torque setting did you use on the bolts? I bought these off ebay a couple of months back (chrome plated speedline bolts) i cant wait to fit them

@xelor8:
