I`ve obviously missed something, but thought the CIS was only good to 400hp.

Would you not encounter problems with this car if its packing 480-500hp or is that HP claim a bit too bold.

Repainted? Well, that would probably explain the ride height.

Never the less, if it has been repainted in original colour this is the only Midnight Blue package car then...

This car was for sale by Sloan last year from what i heard it sold for $115xxx and had paint work. Looks like someone is trying to out Sloan, Sloan.

BTW they used his exact wording and he loves to over estimate the HP. We all know the turbo S's were around 385 Hp and not much more. A stock 3.6 can easily exceed the turbo S hp #'s with minor bolt on's and cost half the price.

Sloan listed the car last fall (on consignment there). The owner then sold/traded it to Roslyn Porsche. They have listed it since January ...

I understand that this car can be had for right around $100k (despite the rediculous asking price). The left rear quarter has been painted, but otherwise it appears in good shape. The VIN sticker is missing off the engine, but that may be just due to age. (How long can one of those stickers stay on in a heat and oil environment??) Nonetheless, should confirm engine serial number.

It's a highly optioned turbo S with full leather interior (doors, dash, etc.). I never understood why some came with a vinyl interior (except seats).

The turbo S motor has special star shaped stamp so it should be apparent if it is an S motor. If this car can be had for $100k it might not be a bad buy assuming the damage is minor.

I know the owner and would be surprised if he sold it for $100k. But I have not asked him recently so you could be right

It does have the S stamp. Nonetheless, IMHO a car with paint work suffers from a significant value hit. That's why RPM and high end collectors usually don't touch them. But Sloan will ...

Even 100 is too tall.

I normally would agree with you although the 1 of 17 factor still makes it an exceptionally rare Porsche in a unique and desirable color combo. In this market it will hurt its value but what can we say about 10 years from now when restored versions of this vintage might bring big $$'s. Just like the crazy 73 RS market a matching numbers car vs a fully restored non matching numbers car still both bring multiple times MSRP.

I think you will find that any of the turbo S cars will exceed MSRP for average cars in the future although your VW jetta might be $100k too by then.
