Anyone Know this 91 Turbo Gemballa??
Hello Gentleman.
I could use some help piecing together the history of this vehicle. I currently have bits, and pieces, but not enough to even know if this is a authentic Gemballa. It looks to be a converted 1991 911 Turbo. The engine looks bone stock, so all it has is the Gemballa body kit. It has been in the follow states throughout its life:
OH
Columbia, SC
Springfield, IL
Bellevue, WA
Phoenix, AZ
Oyster Bay, NY
Can anyone fill me in on the history, or know a way to verify this is a true Gemballa? Thank you all in advance for any info you can give.
- John
P.S. John.Alvi@Leithimports.com is the best way to reach me, I also check my PM's Daily.

Yes it was Randy Johnson's old car. I ran the VIN through Porsche NA's system, and his name popped up as the owner. All three of those states did show up on the Carfax/autocheck. Any ideas on how long he owned it?

Yes you can Gary. I will be in from 12-8pm on Tomorrow (wed). Just ask for me, and I will open it up for you. It is a very interesting vehicle.

As far as I know it is a fake the funk bodykit. I know the price paid was by no way a premium. The car was promoted as Randy Johnsons car. That was it. The crowd at BJ is not exactly Porsche friendly.

I was looking at the body kit also.. I'm not sure it Gemballa front fenders & skirts look like they could be ZeeMax. Door panels are Gembella styling..
John: Are the rear fenders/duct steel?
- Did Leith purchase for stock/resale... asking price?
Thx

The ducts seem to be glass molded into the steel fender. I am waiting for one of my techs to get it up on the lift to check it out for sure. We did not purchase it (too risky). It will be for sale on consignment. We are still trying to figure out what to price this at.

Thanks, John..
Assume also that both the fenders and the skirts are glass also?
Hate the wheels and choice of tail on that body. When you get an idea on asking price please post, curious and have a freind who like odd stuff such as this.
Thanks again,
Paul

Correct, they are glass. The thing that suprized me the most is, there is no cracking or spidering in the paint. The headlight covers are also Sekurit, which shows me there was some money spent on this conversion.
Looks like we will be listing this vehicle at $39,950. Have your friend shoot me an email if interested: John.Alvi@leithimports.com or call at 919-749-0216
I think most Gemballa's were N/A cars? That would explain them only having Carrera door sill guards. The guards on this car also say "Gemballa Design"
