I don't understand the need for all of the secerecy over which ones were sent to Andial. Like B.F.D. If I would have been sent 20 cars to be modded I would to tell you which ones they were . You would think Porsche would also have records of such transactions so the cars could be authenticated

Also "One of Twenty" you list your production compleation date as 7/ 11/ 91, Is it titled as a "N" code car. Production of 92 cars went from Aug. 91 thru July 92. if it was borne on 7/11/91 you would think it was a "M" code car? Don't figure.

Thanks Al I think you asked me this specific question before:

https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turbo-forum/430643-prelim-dyno-results-in-1992-911-turbo-s2.html

Per Anthony/Cobalt:

I would be curious if your car has an M718 code as one of the options. If so it was a 1991 build with vin change to 1992. Porsche did this a lot and it makes it very hard to determine how many cars were actually built.

With that said, I can confirm that my S2 is an "N" code car. The vin: WPOAA296XNS480063
The Certs read exactly as follows:

Birth Date/ Production Completion Date: 07/11/1991

I would assume the date is representative of July as opposed to November of 1991.

Can't really address the Andial secrecy issue. When I was researching this car before I bought it and before I formally joined Rennlist (under a different Rennlist name - one of my Steeler favorites - Mr. Fuamatu-Ma'afala) I received the attached confirmation from another S2 owner at the time regarding my VIN:

https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turbo-forum/202176-92-911-s2-fish.html

That VIN is a good number for a 964 with Turbo S2 option sold to Copans/Champion Motors. I have a letter/fax from 7/2/93 from the previous owner of my S2. I also have the original window sticker and letter from PCNA with the Conversion Process and Parts Exchanged. I think this was the same 964 that was on E-Bay, and have no idea why someone would even want to change anything on the car. The S2 option was list at $10,065 and dealer invoice at $8650. Good luck. John

You'll notice that mine has a colorful history.

This is the post when the car was initially offered by Ferrari of Washington DC:

One of Twenty, Your car being # 63 with a birthdate of 7/91 must mean there was at least 62 others also built before the 8/91 start of the 92 production year. I have #304 of the 309 built for the 92 year mod. and It has a birthdate of 2/06/92 . So I guess there were only five others built between 2/92 and end of 92 year production year on July of 92. Guess there was a big time from production date and shipment to U.S. Buy the way we need to get togeather sometime for a beer. My car is Polar Silver like your 93 and was sold new in Houston . I am in Beaumont. I am getting off this thread as I feel like I am hijacking this mans thread. Thanks for the info.

Glad to hear you did your leg work first. I guess now all that is needed is to confirm the engine is stock. Well Andial stock to be precise.

Good Luck

I would agree it is a July build which would more than likely be a 92 production vin. However, the M718 code was used to change vin designation. My car was late build 1993 has an R vin vs a P vin based on the M718 code. Although production started in 1993 and was completed for all stock US 94 turbos by 12/93 For US documentation the vin was revised using an R instead of a P to show the use of R coded engine. It is a little confusing. However, Adrian and I went back and forth on this and he had not realized that the first 288 out of 466 94 turbos were M718 coded for his book and had the production numbers
listed as 754 for 94 US MY cars when it was actually 466, including the S's.
This happened with a lot of models and has no bearing on value or performance.

Thanks Anthony. Based on the recent dyno test result and the history which came from the vehicle......I can confirm with 99.9999999% certainty that the engine is Andial stock.

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=430643

I guess to absolutely confirm I would need Dieter Inzenhofer to stop by, disassemble the engine and verify the TS2 kit in some way.

Sorry was addressing OP about the engine being Andial tuned. We already know yours is.

IMO if the engine internals are not original to the car the S2 designation defeats the special importance of this car. Same goes with the 94 turbo S's. One disadvantage to owning a car like this assuming originality or future value is important to the owner. Although bolt on mods that can be reversed are never an issue assuming the original parts are retained.

I have no doubt you have one of the few which is still original.

Hey Drv2fst,

Looks like a great and worthwhile project going on, scribed. I would like to take those rockers off your hands if you are willing to sell them. I only have the boxed rockers which I would have gladly sent you, but I know you wont want them. Let me know by email or pm. Thanks,

Tony

Default Selling Ruf Front Spoiler/Lip

Removed this piece recently and thought I would offer it up for sale/trade. I'd love to trade it for a set of stock rocker panels.

RUF Auto Center lists it in their catalog (page 8) for $599.00. I'd sale this ever so slightly used one for a bargain price of $300.00 OBO plus shipping.

Default COA

I finally received the COA from Porsche. It documents what I had already established with a phone call; that this is one of the 20 "Turbo S2" cars.
