Default hot start question

From cold my car fires up immediately with smooth idle
From hot i have to press accelerator and then it idles rough for a short while.
Is it the warm up regulator or what else?

I'm having this same issue among others. I am looking at the fuel accumulator for my warm start issues and my WUR for the cold start ones.

Start by checking the rest pressure. Normally hot start issues are caused by a drop in pressure after shut off. The accumlator will take care of that and or the check valve at the pump. The only way to 100% know is to hook up the pressure gauges and see what the pressures are when you shut the key off.

I bit the bullet and ordered a new one from Sunset Porsche for around $215. I thought about a used one but figured one less thing to worry about later.

Is this part at all universal? I.e. is it common to all CIS Porsches? Could I get one at my VW parts dept asking for an accumulator for an '82 Rabbit? In my experience with Audi it was common for DIY'ers to dodge the "Audi Tax" with VW intercompatible parts. It'd be nice to have a silver lining to the CIS if any parts were intercompatible with the plethora of other '70s and '80s Audis, VWs, Mercedes CIS systems. I'm not being cheap, I simply don't have a bottomless slushfund for my car like some guys.

For the search function users, got a Bosch part number, 0438.170.031, apparently applicable to all 3.3 and 3.6 CIS turbos.

Unfortunately I can't find any apparent cross-compatability to more common makes.
Lowest price I've found so far...

AG02 you got a damn good price at $215. Retail is $394 and prices are all over the place due to limited availability.

This brings up a good point on fuel systems. When should we change our filters, accumulaters, and clean the WUR?

p.s. My silver child's doctor has my CC info on file

How do you figure if your link is for $150?

I want to order from there now! Sunset Porsche does however sell new parts lower than some of dismantlers sell used parts.

I took into context that my local independent wanted retail and a week to get it. Parts Heaven had it for ~$250 and they're semi-local to me. There were few online sources that carry it, and many of them were in the $250-300 range. The $150 was the only price I found lower than yours and I've grown skeptical of the lowest price source as they usually take their sweet time to send you the wrong part, only it was mis-addressed, and broken when you get it and nobody will reply to your RMA requests.
Bitter? Me?

Gotcha. It was a week out at Sunset but I think most are pretty happy with them. I needed some other parts as well so made it easy. Good luck.
