Cheap wastegate-cat bypass for UK/Euro owners
Spotted this during my recent Ebay trawling... £149, seems a reasonable price:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=012
No affiliation, just thought it may be useful for any english or european owners thinking about a double de-cat....

I have spotted these also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you bought one? is it on the car? do they offer more performance than the standard set up.I have a g-pipe and a cat by-pass so I know I am going to be a noisey bas*ar* when fitted, but will this give some more BHP?
I have read about the BOV on this forum what does it do,and where do I get one in the uk.
PS. just finished all the outside of the car and now I am going to fit the above and maybe a bov,and waste gate cat .
Please give advice as I am all ears on the modifications to do for more horses
Regards Gaz,,

screaming,
I too have the g-pipe and cat bypass so know how noisy (good) it sounds.
The wastegate pipe is a great addition too. Get one! It makes it VERY loud on full boost. It won't add power but is an amazing sound in a tunnel - think race car
Nathan,
I have seen those on ebay. Inox also do other 964/5 bypasses, they look good, right shape etc. but haven't any direct experience. I am particlularly interested in their wastegate bypass as they say it 'whistles'. Might be an even better sound compared to the totally raw open w/g I have.

engine time!!!!!
Hi, nathanUK '81 930 G50
I know you reply to most of my rantings but I know I ask some strange things but the more I ask the more I learn.I have a good mate who is a 930 specialists in the northwest so I always ask him before I buy things for the car. I have planned to fit a g-pipe and cat by-pass this weekend on my car its my first move, good or bad?
Stage two, waste gate de-cat as above and 1 bar spring or is a gauge and valve a better method of ajustable boost or is a electronic gizmo better?
Stage three,"big money". headers, cams and a rs clutch to spool up quicker, good or bad?
I have stripped the car down and made it a sort of rsr lookalike, touring version though because I didn't have the bottle to cut the roof off. I think its going to go quite well as a lot of the weight has gone but I want the performance now to match the looks.
PS, I will change my profile on here as the Turbo I own is a 965 1992 320 bhp model from Hamburg and I also own a 1983 911 sc ( super carrera )
911 sc wrong hand drive and 965 proper hand dive...ha ha.
Regards Gaz

Much as it pains me to admit defeat, the neighbours have got to me in the end so my cat-bypass is about to come off and the cat's going back on. I'm also inclined to take it on the track so this should let me get under the noise limits.
If anyone's looking for a bypass then PM me. It does sound unbelievable combined with the g-pipe - as long as you have deaf neighbours you'll be fine!

If you can, you're much-much better off leaving the cat-bypass on and just refitting the exhaust box. The g-pipe is just noise, the cat-bypass is noise and performance!

If it's any help then I *think* that the na 964 exhaust box is the same as the one on our turbos. You might be able to pick one of those up a bit easier than a turbo part.
Can anyone confirm this for us?

noise
My neighbours have been noisy for years so a taste of a de-cated 965 will be a little bit of pay back from me to them.
I have heard a couple of cars with the cats removed and g-pipes on, not that noisy to me but I thought a mates 930 with the zork tube fitted wasn't that bad.
Must be my hearing going with age.
Regards Gaz

Guys, as I said before, and many before me have said, the cat test pipe (straight pipe) is too loud and untuned with the g-pipe. The shaped pipe (eg. Scart, Dansk, etc. and Inox looks ok) has a sound chamber (looks like a cat) and sounds much better. Fine with the G-pipe or swans neck but lots of pops and bangs on lift off. This is the set up I have and one more local 965, and soon another one! The wastegate bypass is the loudest thing but only on full boost.
I also understand the standard silencer is the same from 964 to 965. I would be interested to hear a sports silencer though.
PS: KP, if you want to venture over West london way, or meet me at the P festival, you are welcome to my silencer - I don't need it!

in my loft.
Hi,
I will climb in the loft tomorrow and dig my exhaust bits out.I think the de-cat is a scat one but the g-pipe was a *bay bargain not sure of the manufacturer but if my memory serves me well its got a bit of the sticker on still.
Will let you know tomorrow night what I've got as I don't want another job like my steering wheel .
Regards GAZ
