The N/A cars without SAI have a bracket on the left side of the engine for the engine harness connectors, which is mounted to the completely different intake manifold. the lambda connector is in a small plastic bracket on the left below it.

I don't think this is an option for the 965. Nor is it necessary, more than the connectors for lambda and the TDC sensor is not to be accommodated.

Wicks, I toss that stuff every time i own one. Just ordered a Clewett Oil pump and PS delete sport cams from EBS. You'll be happier with less.

Interesting. What's the reason for that different scavenge pump?

Better Design and clean up that area with the smog delete. Easier to manage oil leaks, Plus...
Eliminate the problems associated with excess turbo oil and turbo oil smoke in the exhaust. This pump has enough capacity to scavenge a twin turbo engine and/or cooling oil for ball bearing turbos. Our turbo scavenge pump fits the factory pump location along with the factory fittings and oil lines. The optional cam sync sensor is used with after market engine management systems for sequential injection.

for what it's worth - I found (online) a brass solid endcap that screws onto the opening on the cat (or cat bypass) - I just typed in the thread pitch and diameter (neither of which I remember off-hand but the info is out there and wasn't hard to find.

IIRC they used to sell a kit but it consisted of nothing more than some allen screws you installed instead of the air injectors. I did this on my SC's. I had seen people place lug nuts over the ends of the air injector ports going into the engine that did the same thing but looked bad.

Yes, the same kit is readily available from most 911 aftermarket parts stockists. They're just little Allen headed grub screws.

As long as the original injectors come out they are an easy replacement. But the injectors themselves are really quite fine and don't stand up to much torque if they are seized. I got 5 out of mine, but one was so seized that it simply twisted off close to the head. It was easier to seal that one in (a spot of weld sealed it off) than drill and tap it.

Rob & I removed mine on Friday. We had to pull the manifolds off for access, but apart from that it was a pretty easy job. All six came out with no major issues.
18.8 ugly lbs removed from the back of the car, replaced with new shouldered plugs that went in nicely with copper washers and red loctite.
For the cat plug, I found this part on Amazon, which was a perfect fit:
