I would have guessed $40k+misc. Anything under $30k "complete & running correctly" is, dare I say....a very good deal.

Ray,

What is funny about these engine builds is that the cost is significant relative to what is being done. Much like a custom chopper. Short of having custom Arrow titanium rods, inconel headers/valves and Secan intercooler, the parts are not that expensive. The head work is the most expensive part of the build aside from labor. So to dump $30K+ into an existing engine should buy you some major power. To me what separates the men from the boys is the quality of the job. The end result may be the same but my objective was big power and make the engine look as if Porsche built it. There is not one exposed wire on this engine. No visible cables and the wiring harness is done exactly as Porsche would have done it.

I'd like to think that in 1992 if Porsche had the desire to build the 3.3 into a proper turbo car (non CIS) this is what they would have done. Of course my cams are a little too aggressive and they never would would have used a Garrett turbo but you get the idea.

Craig,

The car looks great, all I can say is wow. If you want, bring it down here to Towson MD and run it on the Dyna Packs that a local shop has
