The 3.3 turbo S and the 3.6 turbo S are different. The 3.3 has a less pronounced lip and lower drag. The turbo S spoilers wieght a lot less than stock.

The 94 turbo S wing has the largest surface area of any wing used by Porsche. the RS wing is smaller although it has the adjustable bi-wing configuration. I think the stock wing is classic but the turbo S and RS wings are by far the best looking. I hate the looks of the 993TT wing yet the 993TS wing is very nice.

Apparently Porsche designed the 94 turbo S wing to create additional down force for the added Hp of the turbo S. I think for a street car it is the best looking wing. The RS 3.8 wing is impressive and looks great but I don't like the rear view obstruction. It is hard enough to see out the back of the car with the awful third brake lights never mind the additional wing in your way.

I hope I am not digressing to far from topic, but there was a pretty good discussion on different wing options in a thread I started because I was contemplating a GT2 Wing - that from this view I think it still looks the best

I love the 3.6 Turbo S wing... Not badly priced at $550 on Rennspd either!

Bargain at the current exchange rate!

I agree that it is an awesome wing - I just have this thing where I prefer only those parts that were originally designed for the 964 body. Hence I love the 3.8RS wing because it was designed for the 964 but I only like the GT2 wing on 993s. No real logic to it, just a personal thing

Nathan, did you have any issues fitting? I think it looks fantastic, top mod
Nah, you should have said 964 3.8RS

I didn't do the mods, I bought the car like that. It appears to fit fine but I have no idea how much work went into getting it to fit like it does. I am amazed at how heavy it still is though

As Anthony pointed out it does make reversing difficult but I have had 2 vans with no rear windows so it doesn't bother me too much.

I agree with what you are saying I have the same opinion.

The benefit of the GT2 type wing is the scoops which could be used to force air over the IC to keep it cooler. I think even the great Dr. would have said go with what works best, not what looks best though.

JBH - Are those intakes functional or non-functional on that wing? Someone told me they were non - much like the round ducts on the rear wheel panels on the turbo S.

I could be wrong but I was told the RS 3.8 wing was designed for a NA car and the wing created a negative pressure preventing adequate air flow for our turbo cars. I don't think it becomes an issue unless you are racing and eventually under hard driving the lack of air creates a heat soak problem with the IC. The GT2 wing had the ducts added to force more air into the engine bay. IIRC the factory units had openings that directed air into the engine bay not so sure about the after market units.

Although all three wings look great. The Turbo S has the cleanest lines and by eliminating the rubber lip it modernizes the car. Although the lip looks good it somewhat dates our cars more than anything else.

I keep toying with the idea of going with the turbo S wing. I like the RS wings also but with the number of County Sherriff's cruising the roads in the 7.1liter Dodge Chargers I need to be able to see who is following me.

I agree. I can't decide if I want to update the look though.

If I do it, I'm going to get the S wing, a splitter and have them painted/installed at the same time.

A splitter does look well with our cars, S wing or original, I prefer the original with the black rubber....CLASSIC look !!

Couldn't agree with you more; front splitter is the first mod before the rear wing.

Good call with the splitter - much cheaper than the rear wing too! Think I'll put it on my list...

That's the type of splitter I want. You've got a great looking car and I'm jealous of your performance mods too. I'm in limbo on doing anything else to my 3.6. I'm thinking about getting a '96-'97 993 later this year and mod the hell out of it instead.

Did you also replace the plastic mesh behind the splitter with a metal mesh of some kind?
