Default 3.3/3.6 to 3.8 anyone?

Has anyone here modded their car from 3.3/3.6 to 3.8L? If so what are the performance differences you have noticed? Who makes such a slip-on kit? I know Mahle has one but has anyone heard of Wossner? Any comments would be great.

It has been my experience that longevity is reduced with the 3.8l kit and would not recommend the slip in version if you are insistent on going to 3.8. 3.6l is fine as long as boost is limited to about 1.2bar.

is longevity an issue with 3.3 to 3.8 only or is 3.6 to 3.8 the same? Boost will stay under 1.2 for sure.

What I am thinking about doing is using 100mm p&c's ( not slip fit, spigots need to be machined), and the stroke my crank out. With that combo...i will be at like 3774cc's or a 3.8L The 100 mm still have enough meat on them( JB racing cyl) and the spigots still have enough left to be a good combo. There you will get your displacement and still have reliability.....

I don't have experience with anything other than standard cranks and cylinder combinations so I can't say.

Don't use the slip in kits.. The wall thickness is to thin. Your cylinders will oval in a short matter of time..
