Default diverter valve

Why should you replace your OEM Bosch Diverter Valve?

OEM Bosch Valves are prone to failure, not only do most of them leak boost back into the airbox they also create Turbo-Lag that can be noticed and it gets worst over time, it creates hesitant accelaretion and poor throttle response.

With these High Performance Diverter Valves you will notice better Engine and Turbo Response, reduced Turbo-Lag, and these will hold boost and will last your car's lifetime. The Valve Chamber is larger then the OEM Valve and these diverter valves will flow larger volume of air for increased performance.

Note: These Diverter Valves are meant for Stock enigines and mildly modified engines, if your car has been heavily modified please let us know so that we can provide you with the correct tuning spring.

I changed mine in a 1991 C2 Turbo with 30K miles with an EVOMS billet Diverter valve ( $130 ) and i swear to god the difference was pretty noticeable..So to answer your question YES DO IT.... it seems like the car builds boost quicker and IT HOLDS THE BOOST MUCH LONGER...Hope it helps...

I also am a little confused of what to do about this part (my 930 has the Kokeln IC so I have the bosch plasticky part like you guys). One thing that has been said is that the Bosch part has rubber (might have been plastic) parts inside. These parts can come out of the valve and when they hit the turbocharger it is bad news. At least with a aftermarket all metal one there are no small bendable parts to escape from it. I will use my Bosch for a little while and get a ally one later on. Age is the reason the Bosch comes apart so it might be wise for you guys to replace yours with whatever you think is best, especially if you have recently fitted a new turbocharger.

Cheap piece of mind, get the Evo unit... I have taken off a number of bad Bosch units.

More or less everyone that checked their stock BOV has found it to be broken.
Replacing a broken BOV will give you faster acceleration.
I bought a Forge unit, works for me, would like to have an adjustable one though.

I got one from Evo. Works great. Seems to have a little less turbo lag and build boost quicker once you are off the throttle and back on it again.

The old one from Bosch has a rubber diapharm that tend to tear apart after even 10k miles.

First post so be gentle with me….

Been looking into the Evo DV kit – what is contained in the KIT and how difficult is it to fit to a 3.3T?

Thanks

Lee

Welcome Lee,

The installation is a 10 minutes job, very easy. Remove old one and install new one. Easy to access too.

You've persuaded me. I'm going to order one.

Also looked at the website for Tial, and am wandering about the Tial blow-off valve. I apologise in advance for being thick (I'm not technical) but I presume this is different to the above Diverter valve. If so, should one look to replace with the Tial for the same reason ie improvement on the original equipment?

Do you know if there is a UK supplier for either of the options. Would love to know what you deceide upon, keep me posted pls.

Fancy ordering 2

Do you mean Tial waste-gate? This is a good improvement, but IMO, only if you are looking for high horse power and your current wastegate if not working as designed.

One more thing about installation of the BOV. It would be easier to slip the hose back on if you have a little soap (dish detergent) on the inside of the hose. It will dry out soon enough.

Sonny
ps: I have a black anodized one, looks almost like stock.
