Yasin, unfortunately my model has to have the cat, (1992 on, or is it 1991?) hence the sports cat idea. I have read about superlight, but an RS flywheel for example is light but not superlight, so many say its ok for road & traffic.
Nathan, sorry, what's the 15hp?

Miles, I agree, I already seem to have caught the bug!
Have already spent £5K (I had to do some repairs- bodywork and aircon! And upgraded security, stereo/ phone/ ipod, lights etc.) and not yet on performance!! I can easily see myself spending another £5K on basic mods as above and finishing touches on interior and paintwork... and that's before any serious mods.

Regardless of all this, I think a 3.6 would have cost me around £6k extra to buy anyway and would still likely have to update electrics, lights and small glitches. Once I've done a few of the performance mods it'll be better than most 3.6's anyway.

I did look at a couple of 993's. I prefer the shape of the 'old frog-eye' 965/930's and strange as it sounds because the 993 has a plastic (flimsey) whale tail, I thought it would be a weaker build!

If I had my time again, I would have prefered to buy a cheaper 3.3 and improved it as above, or bought a slightly more expensive one where it was in A1/ updated condition. Or could have been lucky and found one that was already modded by previous owner.

Mine, has cost more money than it should, but its one fine motor, and I'm making it even better. I intend keeping it long term, as my daily driver initially (its getting loads of use! big smile) and later as my weekend toy.

Regards,

911 Adict, you're caught already. Shame on you! Not even one month talking with these guys and here you go fully caught by the MOD disease...in a couple of months your threads will start to look like some of the threads in here about cAt's, and Billsteins and whatchmacallits and the torque, and the increase in Hp coupled with the decrease in height....and stuff that we need to go back to university to understand....LOL
